Are you eating all your calories? Remember to not starve the body or it shuts down. You need fuel to do all the workouts. Also, I tend to watch the fat content in all my stuff now. Good luck and don't get discouraged.

How long have you been at 7lb's lost?
  • I use this nutrition line called herbalife. I have been using it for a year now and have lost 25 pounds, and I have a lot of energy and feel great! The main product from the line for weight loss is the Nutritional shake. You replace 1 to 2 meals a day with the shake, the tea and the aloe vera juice. The shakes taste great, keep you full and shrink your stomach while supplying you with your daily vitamins. There is no added stimulants or anything of that nature. Depending on how much weight you want to lose you can adjust how many shakes you take per day. I like to start slow with one shake a day if you have a lot of weight to lose, but if you are at the last 10 pounds it can be hard to crack so two a day is necessary. Also, There is a product in the line called "prolessa" which is expensive but burns fat quickly and is stimulated by exercise. There are also several enhancers such as Cell Activators that get rid of excess water in your system, which could help you lose a pound just from that.

The supply for the shakes is 30, so if you use one shake a day it will last a month, and two shakes a day last for 2 weeks.
I would highly recommend that if you are interested that you take the aloe for digestion and cleansing and the tea for energy and metabolism boosting. You can take the tea and the aloe with the shakes and as much as you want.
    Good Luck!

    I've looked at your diary.

You need to add fruits and veggies to your food. Lots and lots of them. and you need to cut back on all the processed food.

I'm brand new (this week) here and I have a question. You looked at her diary? How do you do that? Does that mean my friends can look at my diary and I can look at theirs?

Or was this something special you mutually agreed on? I'm just curious.

i read your food diary and you need to incorporate more healthy food. i friended you so can give you some advice on email if you would like.. remember that just because you are meeting your calories does not mean you are meeting your healthy needs. if you put the wrong type of gas in a car it doesnt function so well. if you give it the right gas and keep it tuned up then it functions properly.. the right gas for you is the right food.. keep plugging and things will work themself out. asking for input is the first big step.. congrads on the wedding coming up!!

If you are eating out often, (or even having a drink from somewhere) it's quite possible their nutrition info is quite far off.

I read an article 2-3 days ago, and some 300 calorie dishes were more towards 1000.

If you have any doubt, stick with pretty basic, raw, one-ingredient foods (egg, tuna, oats, peanutbutter, milk, vegetables, etc) for simply a week, and you'll be a TON more accurate with your intake.

You can't trust anyone these days.

    Not even kiwiburgers.

You can have your diary set (under settings) to private, only friends or public. The OP has her diary set to public.

Your profile indicates you joined MFP this month. Today is the 13th day of the month, so if you've lost 7 pounds in 13 days, that's over 2 pounds per week; pretty good I would say. Also, your profile indicates you put on 100 pounds over 9 years. You've lost 7% (nearly 10%) of that weight in 13 days! Again, pretty good if you ask me. If it comes off too fast, it will go back on fast. It's taken me a year to lose 30 pounds. I still have 70 to go. I figure it will take time and I need to be patient and do the things I know will work.

Remember, there are 3 parts to accomplishing a goal. The plan, the execution and the results. If you aren't getting the results you expected, check to be sure the plan is reasonable and that you're executing according to the plan. If your plan isn't reasonable or you're not executing according to your plan, then you can't expect to get the results.

I also looked at your food diary and it seems you joined up on Jan. 2nd. Today is only the 13th. A 7 pound weight lose in 10ish days is really good so I'm not really understanding what the problem is??? And your getting some good exercise in there too!!

I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to understand.

Oh! Thank you for explaining that. I didn't know that was an option. I was just concerned that "anyone" could read my diary ...

I see now where the setting can be changed. :)

I think it is just frustrating for me cause from where ive come i have changed so so much and its feeling like its been forever and nothings happening but it puts things in perspective seeing the numbers like yall have done i guess it is good! 7% sounds better than only 7lbs lol

How do yall feel about no/little carbs??

Carbs are good for you. They are what give you energy to complete your workouts. Processed carbs are not good for you. They are calorie dense and typically don't supply a whole lot of nutrients.

With little or no carbs you'll be dead on your feet which will kill any motivation to do exercise. I went back 4 days and did not see one piece of fruit but I did see pepsi, sweets, chips and Dairy Queen - Brownie Batter Blast Blizzard Small, 1 small, whatever the hell that is. It doesn't sound good. I also saw McDonalds is in your diary quite often, and you had a muffin for breakfast this morning.

I think your issue is that the foods you're getting your calories from are all very processed and contain a lot more evil in them than the pure calorie number.

Clean up your eating and you will see improvement. With that said, you've lost a nice amount in the time you've been here, so if you feel you need to eat the processed stuff, keep doing what you're doing.

One thing, like the others have said, drop some of the processed foods, but I would suggest try adding more fiber to your breakfast, it will help you stay full through the day.

If you mix some bran buds with yogurt it should help.

I'll ask again. How long did it take you to lose the 7lbs and how long has it been since you've lost any weight?

Because from where I'm sitting, you joined MFP less than 13 days ago and are showing a 7lb loss. And therefore from where I'm sitting, you are probably thrilled that you lost 7 lbs within 2 weeks (and rightly so) and don't understand why you haven't lost any more weight in probably the last couple of days.

Am I close? (And because you've avoided the question twice before, I'm thinking I'm bang on)

If you cut out carbs, you're shooting yourself in the foot right at the start. Carbs = energy food = essential for your success.

What you DO want to cut out is refined carbs - white flour, white sugar... replace them with whole grains at least 50% of the time and gradually try for more than that.

Try for a good balance of nutrients, like roughly 20% of your calories coming from fat, 25% from protein, and 55% from carbs.

One key bit of info from our trainer this week was that you should never, ever drop your caloric intake below your BMR, which is your minimum requirement to support your body as it is right now, if you did nothing but sleep all day. You can calculate that here: http://health.discovery.com/centers/heart/basal/basal.html. She said most women should be around 1800 cal/day and men around 2300, especially if you are exercising. Dropping below that doesn't fuel your body sufficiently, so your metabolism slows down and hoards calories rather than releasing them.

See my husband is a chef and with all his education he will not let me buy too many wheat/whole grain/brown rice anything he knows all the negatives that go with it so we just cut it down dramatically!!

You are starving yourself and have totally sabotaged your progress.
You need to eat more - what MFP recommends and EAT BACK YOUR EXERCISE CALORIES.

Simply stated MFP has already figured out your total calories you need to eat per day to lose 1lb etc. a week. That's WITHOUT exercise. You'll notice that when you actually add exercise in, the calorie limit goes up. Why? Because it's telling you to eat your exercise calories. Large deficits aren't really good to do because while you will lose weight, what kind of weight will it be? In many cases you'll lose lean muscle tissue which LOWERS your metabolic rate even more. Then you have to eat even less to compensate for less of a calorie burn to continue to lose the same amount of weight each week.
Be efficient. Exercise hard and eat back the calories. The hard exercise will RAISE your metabolic rate and burn more fat at rest.

I just took a look at your diary... you need to eat more, high- quality calories. You aren't eating enough... you should have either 6 small meals or 3 normal meals with 2/3 snacks. Remember, it isn't just the quantity of the calories, but also the quality. Think of your food as fuel, and you need the best fuel possible for your body. The best things to eat are minimally processed foods, whole foods, lean proteins, fruits and veggies. Good luck!
