    I can give you a really great chocolate, chocolate chip cookie, will that do?

    I box devils food cake
    2 eggs
    1/4 cup oil


    mix together, add chocolate chips, bake 350 degrees, 10 minutes



    To make these healthier :laugh: , use two egg whites, 1 whole egg, ...or 3 egg whites and 1/4 cup prune puree instead of the oil.

    nope - sounds yum though, has to be with ingredients I have. I've got flour, sugar (white and brown) chop chips, eggs, butter, oil, margarine, milk, standard baking stuff- b. powder, soda, vanilla, etc. ummmmmmm you know. I have a regular go to recipe but I want something diffrent. my usual ones are kind of cakey.... you know? something different.

    crisco really does make a difference. but since it's with what you have on hand--do the nestle toll house recipe but add flour and water from the high altitude directions and add 1-2 more tsp vanilla.

    Toll House Chocolate Chip recipe on back of chips is good and you have all you need.

    Yup! :happy: Good old-fashioned Toll House are my stand-by. I under-cook them. 8 minutes, then let them cool on pan for 3-4 minutes before transferring to cooling rack. This makes them super chewy-gooey!!!!!!!!!!!:love::love:

    2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
    3/4 cup granulated sugar
    3/4 cup packed brown sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    2 large eggs
    2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
    1 cup chopped nuts


    Directions:
    PREHEAT oven to 375° F.

    COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

    BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

    PAN COOKIE VARIATION: Grease 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. Makes 4 dozen bars.

    SLICE AND BAKE COOKIE VARIATION:
    PREPARE dough as above. Divide in half; wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm. Shape each half into 15-inch log; wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.* Preheat oven to 375° F. Cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices; place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

    * May be stored in refrigerator for up to 1 week or in freezer for up to 8 weeks.

    FOR HIGH ALTITUDE BAKING (5,200 feet): Increase flour to 2 1/2 cups. Add 2 teaspoons water with flour and reduce both granulated sugar and brown sugar to 2/3 cup each. Bake drop cookies for 8 to 10 minutes and pan cookie for 17 to 19 minutes.

    :laugh: we have some of those quaker instant ones, but no raw oats. I usually do have them, because I like to make apple crisp :laugh: but we're all out I guess. Ya... we never have peanut butter. It's really expensive here for some reason and we barely eat it anyway.

    Manitoba. it's in Canada. don't worry, you're not missing anything by overlooking it. It's like the worst place on earth to live :laugh: It's freezing and friggin peanut butter is expensive. ok, everything is expensive but I simply cannot in good consience pay 8$ for a small container of PB :explode:

    I use the toll house recipe also, but i just wanted to say thanks for the pic! I was sitting here, perfectly content, now i suddenly have this huge craving for chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven!! luckily I dont have all the ingredients! lol but they looked sooooo good!!

    I make mine with a package of instant vanilla pudding added to the mix-it makes the cookies turn out really soft and looks just like something out of a Betty Crocker commercial...

    Crisco(the butter kind) is really good instead of real, for future reference, and also has less saturated fat in it than butter...

    I just finished making peanut butter fudge and chocolate fudge. Noooo I'm not eating I make hubby take it to work. LOL

    If you like the fresh baked cookie freeze some of the dough in balls. Take out of freezer and bake as directed (maybe a minute or two longer) Fresh hot cookies without having to make & bake a whole batch.

    I also think using butter in them is better than crisco. Butter is real and tastes yummy. Crisco is hydrogenated and doesn't taste as yummy.

    I agree on the real butter!

    I usually freeze like 3/4 of a batch in 3 seperate containers. It's just my guy and I so a whole batch (60 cookies) is pretty excessive. instead I make a dozen or so at a time and then I have the dough if I want to make some later :flowerforyou:

    WTH why is PB so expensive out there? Ill mail you some PB from ontario LOL ... for the big kraft pb container its only 4.00 and cheaper when its on sale...:noway:
