I can give you a really great chocolate, chocolate chip cookie, will that do?
I box devils food cake
2 eggs
1/4 cup oil
mix together, add chocolate chips, bake 350 degrees, 10 minutes
To make these healthier :laugh: , use two egg whites, 1 whole egg, ...or 3 egg whites and 1/4 cup prune puree instead of the oil.0 -
buy golden crisco and make the chocolate chip cookies from the recipe on the box... they are awesome0

nope - sounds yum though, has to be with ingredients I have. I've got flour, sugar (white and brown) chop chips, eggs, butter, oil, margarine, milk, standard baking stuff- b. powder, soda, vanilla, etc. ummmmmmm you know. I have a regular go to recipe but I want something diffrent. my usual ones are kind of cakey.... you know? something different.0

crisco really does make a difference. but since it's with what you have on hand--do the nestle toll house recipe but add flour and water from the high altitude directions and add 1-2 more tsp vanilla.

Yup! :happy: Good old-fashioned Toll House are my stand-by. I under-cook them. 8 minutes, then let them cool on pan for 3-4 minutes before transferring to cooling rack. This makes them super chewy-gooey!!!!!!!!!!!0 -

Here it is if anyone else feels like makin cookies tomorrow!
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts
Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 375° F.
COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
PAN COOKIE VARIATION: Grease 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. Makes 4 dozen bars.
SLICE AND BAKE COOKIE VARIATION:
PREPARE dough as above. Divide in half; wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm. Shape each half into 15-inch log; wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.* Preheat oven to 375° F. Cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices; place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
* May be stored in refrigerator for up to 1 week or in freezer for up to 8 weeks.
FOR HIGH ALTITUDE BAKING (5,200 feet): Increase flour to 2 1/2 cups. Add 2 teaspoons water with flour and reduce both granulated sugar and brown sugar to 2/3 cup each. Bake drop cookies for 8 to 10 minutes and pan cookie for 17 to 19 minutes.

HAHA the peanut butter I can understand, but how in the world can someone who is watching their calories be without oatmeal!?! LOL!0 -

:laugh: we have some of those quaker instant ones, but no raw oats. I usually do have them, because I like to make apple crisp :laugh: but we're all out I guess. Ya... we never have peanut butter. It's really expensive here for some reason and we barely eat it anyway.0 -
PS- I omit the nuts in the Toll House! Although I love them, not everyone does. BTW, where's "MB"? I'm feeling like a total geographic dolt!0

I use the toll house recipe also, but i just wanted to say thanks for the pic! I was sitting here, perfectly content, now i suddenly have this huge craving for chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven!! luckily I dont have all the ingredients! lol but they looked sooooo good!!0

I make mine with a package of instant vanilla pudding added to the mix-it makes the cookies turn out really soft and looks just like something out of a Betty Crocker commercial...
Crisco(the butter kind) is really good instead of real, for future reference, and also has less saturated fat in it than butter...0 -

If you like the fresh baked cookie freeze some of the dough in balls. Take out of freezer and bake as directed (maybe a minute or two longer) Fresh hot cookies without having to make & bake a whole batch.
I also think using butter in them is better than crisco. Butter is real and tastes yummy. Crisco is hydrogenated and doesn't taste as yummy.0 -

I usually freeze like 3/4 of a batch in 3 seperate containers. It's just my guy and I so a whole batch (60 cookies) is pretty excessive. instead I make a dozen or so at a time and then I have the dough if I want to make some later :flowerforyou:0 -
