I don't eat that crap I'm the cook. you have fun in the sky I'm real happy flooting on the high seas, speaking of I headed on deployment in 10 days so I'm not sure if I'll get to post on MFP
We are headed to South Am for 6 months that's the Navy aways underway
John... So, Navy ships "floot", do they? And the Navy is "aways" underway? I seem to remember a comment that soldiers had a hard time reading. Spelling seems to be the sailor's weakness...

In all seriousness, take care on your deployment bro. We'll be here waiting for you when you get back. Drop us note from time to time when you can. Never been on an operational Navy ship myself, but I'd expect they have rigged up some kind of Internet access to keep in touch with home. What class of vessel are you assigned to, and what port are you leaving out from (assuming that's not classified info)..?

xsargex... Dude, I was always happy to be on the ground; it's a known quantity that I can work with. Being in recon, I spent a lot of time in squad-sized elements or smaller (sometimes individual) and lots of time in the bush. Teaches you self-reliance in a big way. Looking back, those were ten of the best years of my life. At times, I do miss it...

Word up bruther. You navy guys and your ships. I would never be able to muster 6 months on a ship at sea. I would go OUTTA MY MIND. By the way, my uncle was a cook in the Navy. He's amazing. That guy can take a couple bare cupboards and make the most amazing meal ever. Anyway, hey man, take care of yourself. Be safe. watching your six. If you see any pirate ships, be sure to blow those *kitten* outta the water.

Tony....don't get me wrong, I like being on the ground. On the ground INSIDE THE WIRE.

Yeah... but there's just something about being out there amidst the bullets and the bombs... Makes you appreciate life in a very urgent way, if that makes sense.
