    I have these symptoms right before my TOM or just after. I get weird smells all the time. One day I walked around my entire office looking for someone with burned toast. For me, it's hormonal... though not pregnancy related. Could be a pregnancy thing for you though!

    It could be a chemical imbalance in your brain.
    Or there may be something in your diet you are lacking that is in bleach and popcorn.
    The body does weird things, when I was pregnant I remember hearing about other pregnant woman craving chalk, dirt, cigarette buds because they were lacking something in their diet that their body knew those other things had.

    I do not think you are pregnant because you are smelling something that is not even there, which pregnancy heightens your sense of smell for things that are all ready there (I honestly did not notice any difference).

    wish you luck! Go to your doctor, since you're dieting you could be lacking something.

    That's actually called pica (craving and/or smelling things that have no actual nutritional value.) It's usually caused from an extreme lack of iron. :)

    I was smelling bleach really strongly the other day, too. I think it was because I had on a clean bra straight out of the dryer and I bleach my bras.
