I can be up anywhere from 2-5 pounds during TOM but not the rest of the month. Don't you ovulate in the middle of your cycle? (Sorry, I've never had to think/worry about ovulation time)

Yes you do ovulate in the middle of your cycle. But when I actually bleed(sorry) I lose the weight. I just find it so strange.

Not that unusual, really. Women respond differently to hormonal rises and falls. I want to eat EVERYTHING during PMS season. I tend to hold onto water starting a couple days before I menstruate... and it doesn't go away until the last day of my period.

No need to worry/stress. Just know what's normal for you so that you don't get scale-shock at weigh in.

Ever since having kids, I am worse for PMS-like symptoms around O-time than when I actually get my period. Go figure.

But yes, it makes total sense to gain a couple of pounds because there tends to be a lot of hormonal fluid retention at that time. (That's where the feelings of pressure in the lower belly come from around that time.)

I'm the same as you, Jamie. I gain a pound or two in the week or two before my period actually starts, and then once I start bleeding I drop all that weight I had gained and more. Pretty sure it's just water retention and I don't let it bother me. I even use it as a way to know when my period is going to start, since I weigh every morning. It's nice to know the pattern and get familiar with it.

Congratulations on your loss so far, by the way. We have similar starting weights/goal weights and you look fantastic. I love seeing people with similar numbers to me who are further along the process and looking good--gives me inspiration!

I put on about 5 pounds the few days before I start my cycle and hold onto it for most of the week!

Wow I don't have gain during ovulation. I am up 2-5 pounds a day or two before it starts and then most of the week.
