OMG... pogs. Lol. I had those... and Treasure trolls! iPod's would have sounded like something an alien travels in. TRL... Nick... Cheesy movies.... Slap bracelets.... Nintendo.... Gameboy was like, the shiz.... and the Sega gamegear! lol. OMG I loved that thing. The yumminess that was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cereal... Goosebumps, Clarissa Explains it All, All That... and even Full House didn't seem THAT cheesy... round it all out with TRL and throw in some boy bands. Greenday rocked my world when I bought them as my first CD and I was the coolest kid with my 50-poud boom box and didn't get the memo that big hair was an 80's thing... Mariah Carey still actually sang good music, and Boyz to Men were still cool. Grunge was a cool thing, not just when you didn't take a shower. Power Rangers ruled the earth, and Pica Pica Picachu showed us all that you don't have to say anything but your name over and over again on a tv show to become wildly popular. The graphics in Jurassic park were 'really well done' and Titanic ushered us into our tween years with Jack's hotness that we all watched a billion times.

I remember pulling on the cord to my mom's home phone when she was in a long conversation.

I also remember begging her for the internet cord for the dial up before they had any other options.

Or playing video games on 32 MB of ram.

    The original Power Rangers.

    SNES/Sega Genesis.

    Pogs.

    Light up shoes.

    Pagers!

    Writing notes was texting.

The tight pants that were made of cotton, basically leggings, that were super colorful and had obnoxious designs on them.

The horrible psychedelic skiing outfits my parents made me wear. Ugh!

    SNES
    NES
    Gameboy

    No internet to lookup cheats/walkthroughs

You recorded music off a radio station via cassettes
    VHS Home movies
CRT TV screens ( nothing flat! )

You actually spent a majority of your time outside

    Old Nickelodeon shows:
    Pete & Pete
    Salute Your Shorts
    Ren & Stimpy
    Welcome Freshman
Are You Afraid of the Dark?

    Some PBS shows:
    Ghost Writer
a few others I forget the name of....

Also remember watching Saved by the Bell

Wow, there are really some classics on here!

    - Batman movies with Chris O'Donnell (Val who? George? I didn't watch it for Batman...)
    - Superman with Dean Cain
    - Trapper Keepers (I probably still have mine...)
    - GhostWriter (PBS Kids!)
    - Talkboys from Home Alone
    - Lisa Frank (Still have some stationary, etc.)
    - Erasers in the shape of...well, anything! Those were currency in my public school.
    - GigaPets (I had 2 of the 101 Dalmation kind)
    - Having a set of markers and/or glitter gel pens made you the coolest kid in class

    To name a few...

  • Penny loafers with a penny, I wanted to be a "Fly Girl" on In Living Color, you could buy "New Coke" and "Coke Classic", PUFF PAINTS!, Lalapalooza, I used to wear boxers for shorts, Cosby Show:), I wore long johns under my cutoff goodwill mens plaid shorts to school with Doc Marten shoes. My parents were so proud. Definitely had a waterfall still going on in the early nineties.

  • What about begging your parents for your phone line?? My mom never gave in. I was really jealous that my best friend had her own phone line.

let's not forget dial up (my in-laws still use dial up)
my dad would get so mad when he tried to get on the computer and I would pick up the phone, I was a teen in the 90's so this happened quite a bit. I think he still has our old commodore 64 too. I loved that thing - I miss that crackling loading sound and the 20 minutes it took to load ANYTHING.

Cross colors, I had the brightest red pants, and some mustard yellow ones. Did the cassette tapes thing, every friday night during the request show. I had a big wave for a hairstyle. Loved bodysuits with baggy jeans. Begged for my own phone line then got it taken away every other week and I thought my life was over.

As for music, I have XM in my car and it pretty much stays on 90's on 9.

Oh, and "You can't do that on television" was that 80's or 90's? hmmmm.
