I have never tasted fresh salmon. Just the stuff out of a can. Is fresh better? Not a big fish eater.0

We have a grill pan we use to cook frozen/fresh salmon at least once a week. It's a favorite meal for DH and myself. We try it with a different seasoning or rub every time. DH also adds flavored olive oil to his as he needs the extra fat.0 -
I love the taste of meat in my mouth.0

Who loves meat?
Well, it really depends.
Is it factory farmed meat?
The reason I ask is that the farming practices in factory farms are cruel.
And the slaughter process is very, very painful. It's actually torture!
When an animal suffers, when a panicked animal is tortured during the slaughter, it releases stress hormones that give the meat a fabulous taste.
Factory farming is WONDERFUL!:drinker:
I ONLY eat factory farmed meat.....0 -
Me! I'd be a fairly hopeless vegetarian. Chicken is my staple, and I love pretty much all other meats as well.0

Long live low carb! Down 60 lbs., total cholesterol is 127 and BP is 115/60 on average! Meat, get in my BELLY!0

YUM! I can out-eat my hubby when you put a perfectly cooked steak on my plate! And don't dare try and steal a bite...you'll draw back nubs.
Hehehe....glad you re-read!
And sorry, I do love my salad and greens but damn, a girl's just gotta have some meat! And, fish, chicken, pork....
A-friggin-men to that! There's more pork and chicken cooked in my house than red meat due to rising prices and bad quality at the stores, but I'll continue to eat and enjoy every morsel.0 -

Umm I had half a kilo of mini chicken breast fillets for dinner tonight, nothing else just the chicken, marinated in chinese five spice & ginger & cooked on my George grill, so I think the answer is ....yes.
My husband is from SE Asia & can't believe the massive amount of meat waste here in the UK, in his country we eat everything. Chicken feet although an acquired taste really are good & you can't really appreciate what wusses we are till you are picking out beak & skull from soup or sucking down on a silk worm.0 -
Hubby's got steak cooking right now...

One of my fav ways to cook salmon is like a hash, diced onion, garlic, diced part boiled potatoes, a bit of olive oil & chuck it all in a pan with a bit of olive oil & fry till cooked. a smidge of back pepper & good to go. yummy0

That's unfortunate for you because there are a number of scientific studies that show the adrenalin released during pre-slaughter stress has a negative impact on the flavour of the meat. i.e. It tastes less 'meaty'. The less stress the animal is under, the less adrenalin is released, the better the meat tastes.
If you're going to eat it, you might as well eat the tastiest you can get. (Which, I would guess, would be something you've killed yourself with a single shot at long-range).0 -
LOL, couldn't resist. NOW I'm sexy. Except for the part that looks like I was putting on lipstick during a seizure...which was most likely caused by EATING MEAT!!!!0 -

When I am feeling down, they pick me right up!
Seriously, I buy and prepare leans meats - indifferent to the source.
Just don't care.
I use that line above to skewer the sacred cows of these preachy animal rights snivelers.0
