calories burn even after exercise?

so i heard that even after you finish exercising that your body continues to burn calories. does anyone know if this is true??

your body is burning calories 24 hours a day. so yes.
when you exercise you burn more than you burn in day to day activities, and theres a small amount of calories from exercise that are burned after you finish. for cardio its 5-20 minutes (i think), and with weight lifting its longer but i dont know how much0 -

I kept my HRM on after circuits tonight to test this theory. Not true for me, as soon as I sat down my HR dropped to 46-50 (fairly normal for me), so clearly having done circuit training half an hour earlier didn't have an effect on my metabolism.0

Sort of true. Any activity will make your burn a few calories. To get the most out of an aerobic exercise, do light weights after and your body will continue to burn.0
