QUESTION for you about gadgets and readouts...

Hi...for all of you out there who use gear and gadgets to exercise and monitor your exercise units...do you find that the measurements are different between monitors?
For example, my calibrated iPhone Pedometer indicates my step count and calorie burn as being DRAMATICALLY different than my calibrated TreadClimber readout.
Which reading should I use? Which one would YOU use? Would a gadget such as a FitBit be the most accurate because it's created for that purpose?
Also...are you using the FitBit or any other dedicated tracker/monitor? I'd love to hear your experiences and advice...
