Good afternoon my friends--
Sara is out of touch for a couple days due to a death in the family. Sending lots of hugs your way, my friend. Hope you're hanging in.
Had a great weekend-- our friend visited from Cinci-- he was our best man, and my husband has been friends with him since they were toddlers-- we laughed, and laughed and laughed-- wow, did my soul need the refreshment.
Must scoot-- hope everyone's having a good day!!!

Thanks for starting the thread, Marla! Glad you had a great weekend! It's always so awesome to get together with old friends!
Ok, a question for all of the moms...since moms are notoriously famous for being obsessed with poop, although usually not their own... Since I started MFP, I have had very rare BM's, and I think I used to pretty much go every day before. I don't feel constipated or bloated or anything, and I am losing weight. Do you think it's just because I am eating less and more healthy food? Sorry for the tmi, but I just keep wondering what is going on!?!
Hope everyone is having a great Monday! I had a busy day but managed to run three miles for the first time since college! Yeah! I also started the push-ups challenge and the first day went well!

Just popping back in to add what I forgot in my previous post...
Sara, I am sorry for your loss. Praying that God gives you & your family comfort during this time!0 -
Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm am once again a SHM as of 4 weeks ago and a bad economy. Anyway, I have 2 children, my dd Emma is 8 and ds TJ is 6. I was a SHM for 6 years until I went back to work when my kids started school. I only worked until they got out of school which was wonderful! I have to say that being a working Mom and being a stay home mom are equally difficult! Anyway- glad to be part of the fun. I must say that I enjoyed being at home when my kids were smaller and at home with me. Now I look for things to fill my time during the day which is why I'm here :laugh:0

welcome magnolia! glad you found us!
marla, thanks for bringing the thread over here. and a weekend of laughs?--how fab!
kathy, well, for dogs (which is not to say you're a dog!), when they eat high quality food they poop less. crappy food (sorry for the pun) leads to more crap more often. so maybe your idea is right--more good stuff in, less waste out.
if you're not feeling bloated or constipated and are drinking enuf water, i wouldn't worry about it. no need to do a cleanse or anything. if you REALLY want, you could take 1-2 phillips milk of magnesia pills with water before bed and see if you get any results. but again, if you're feeling fine, i wouldn't bother.
ok, gotta do my chores. i just am so tired of emptying the dishwasher and doing laundry. blech.
btw--#2 is much better. have to bribe with sprite zero to get her to take the "chewable" pills, but whatever, she's doing fine.
later--0 -

Kathy, actually I'm glad you brought this up. I joke with my husband all the time "I gotta eat crap in order to crap!" I just don't go very often anymore...unless I eat unhealthy. My hubby's philosophy is that because I'm eating healthier foods my body is using more of the food than it is expelling. I don't know what to think of it, but that's what he thinks.
Anyone else want to chime in on this lovely TMI issue?0 -
Honestly Kathy, I'm jealous! Since I started this whole process I feel like I'm constantly going! BUT - I eat a ton of fiber and drink a ton of water too. I used to go maybe once a day or every other day... but now I'm going 3 times a day without fail!
We had a great weekend. The treadmill I had borrowed from my mom finally died Saturday morning. I had just gotten on and was jamming to my music in my earphones when my husband came in and said, "Can't you hear that?" It was making a sick Whoomp, whoomp, whooomp sound... so I began researching. We went shopping Saturday afternoon and evening. I got my workout in - 10 minutes at a time on many different treadmills. We went back and bought our new one on Sunday. I LOVE it!
This will be a busy week for me as my sister is coming into town at the beginning of next week. My mom's having surgery next week (having a tumor removed from her ear - prayers very much appreciated). I need to get the house cleaned up and make sure that there are enough groceries over at mom's house so we're not tempted to order out - dad's diabetic so that would be a disaster!0 -
Welcome Magnolia!
Thanks Sonja, Stacy, & Drevan's mom (sorry I forgot your name!) for your helpful replies to my tmi question! Maybe I will try to increase my natural food-fiber intake. I am not going to worry about it if this is a common happening!0 -
sonja--prayers for your mom's surgery--that it should go well and recovery be quick too.
you do have a lot coming up--hang in there, and pop in when you need an extra hug.0 -
good morning everyone! i've been frustrated with the scale this week  i finally got down to the 160's a couple of weeks ago, then last week, back up to 172! i figured it was cause TOM was on its way, but it;s been a week and it's a no-show :grumble: i'm afraid to get on the scale, and we're going home to visit family for easter this weekend and i wanted to fit into my 14's by that time. this is the way it always works for me. TOM waits till the worst possible moment to show up(it'll probably be right after we leave for the 3.5 hour trip). sorry for tmi, but i'm just so aggravated with my body ARGH!!0

back on the wagon yesterday got a 40 mins jog in first thing then walked the dogs after some housework then got 30 day ahred level 1 done it was actually quite easy so I will get back to level 2. Took today as my rest day as I got my highlights done this morning at 9am and it take 3 hours so really didnt have the time so workout days will be wed thurs fri and sat for the rest of the week and I WILL DO IT NO QUESTION.
I am going to lose 14 to 20 lbs in 8 weeks before my vacation. I will get there.
Feeling pretty good today hair is great just the colour I wanted walked the dogs earlier it was abit bit windy but I am really tired still will get an early night tonight so I can get up early tomorrow to do shred and get my run in before 9 am . then I will be walking the dogs and I am looking after my very best friends kiddos as it is her birthday and I think her and her bloke need some me time together.
Kids are driving me crazy Charley my lovely 4 yr old has decided that when she is told no she will turn on the tears to try and get what the wants I have had enough of it and told her that if I see one more tear she will be put to bed (she will be going early tonight anyway I think she is tired) she is very manipulative at the best of times and this is just another way plus she has been picking on her sister all day.
Better go making calzones for their dinner and they are nearly done, I am having steamed veg with a lovely piece of cod and some brown rice(it will be worth it)0 -
whew! tazzy you make me dizzy!

glad to hear you're getting back into your workouts. and calzones? what a nice mommy you are!0 -
Beth sweetie breathe it's okay we've all been there...and your right TOM will probably show just when it's inconvienant...I think that's how it's suppose to work. Have you seen the tampon commercials...I don't remember if its tampax or playtex but the girls are out doing something fun and Mother Nature shows up with the gift box. SO TRUE!!!
Regardless, I feel your pain. I was hoping to be below 170 last week and I just keep riding that fine line...169 one day 173 the next 171 the next and 172 the next....crazy rollercoaster. We will get there, just keep doing what you are doing!
Have a great Easter with your family.0 -
Hey Lyn-- haven't seen you in a while-- hope you're well--
Beth-- all I can say is, I feel your pain, sister--
Stacey-- thanks for being the welcome wagon to this thread. It's so nice that the mantle gets passed around-- whoever has the most time at a given time is the greeter--
Tazzy-- calzones? Would you adopt me, please?
Really can't tarry-- work is done til this evening, so I need to go hang with the kids and try to get some laundry done. Just decided to go visit the inlaws (about an hour away) for their Easter service, but I have nothing to wear, so must shop-- what trouble, eh?
All in all here, life is the same-- which, I guess, can be either good or bad-- Still no job for DH-- so the typing will continue-- whaddyagonnado, eh?
Must skedaddle for now-- later moms!!0 -
Thanks Lyn and Marla :flowerforyou:
it's good to know i have people to talk to who know exactly how i feel. i've been kinda blah the past couple of days and not working out. today i kicked my butt in gear and burned 683 cals!!! thank you for being so supportive0 -

:drinker: :drinker: Good for you-- it's sometimes the last thing we feel like doing, but always the thing that's the best for us. Way to go, Beth!!!!!!0 -
:flowerforyou:
just spreading some love---we are all AMAZING! not only are we caring for our families, but we're making a point to improve our own health, setting goals, meeting challenges. yay us!
later--off to fold the laundry :noway:0 -
okay, Marla breathe innnnnnnn-- breathe outtttt--
So here are my choices-- stay here in this house and continue the screaming I've been doing at my offspring for the fact that the downstairs ( previously mentioned in an earlier post ) looks like a bomb went off. We just had company that left TWO DAYS ago, and the girls room literally looks like their dresser vomited all over the floor.
Laundry room is even worse, despite the system I put in place for these kids when we moved in--
Pant pant pant-- :explode:
So my choices-- stay here and scream, head to walmart and get a coffee on the way-- or run and hope to come back less inclined to start whipping these children.
You can't know how tired I am of this-- how hard is it to put the #$@! Clothes actually IN the drawers and/or hamper-- so, since I can't withhold breakfast from them like I did last time, I gave orders to clean NOWWWW and they're all going to bed immediately after--
I think the run is going to win out even though I'm tired-- I know I'll feel better.
:grumble: :grumble: :grumble: :noway: :noway: :noway: :grumble: :grumble: :grumble:0 -
Just tagging you all to catch up tomorrow. Normalcy should be restored at 5am when DH leaves for work, but the kids started being super snotty at the end of the day today so we'll see how the night pans out. Yippy.
Catch up with all y'all tomorrow!0 -

hope you got the run and are feeling calmer. (and that the house is cleaner).0 -

Thanks, Stacy-- yes, I ran and feel much better. It is the coolest thing....I was tired during the first mile and still feeling grumbly. TOM fog is moving in. Midway through the second mile, I began to get in my zone and was actually chanting to myself-- "I am stronger than this-- I am stronger than these hormones-- " it's really rather startling given my history-- and I get so tickled afterwards-- I ran 3.5 miles and then walked 1/2 a mile home-- it was beautiful out.
And yes, my house is cleaner-- but that reminds me to go throw another load of laundry in.0 -

Hi sweetie-- glad you're back safe. Missed ya!0 -
hi folks! just checking in. i won't be around for a few days b/c Passover starts tonight. i've got some more preparations to do today (get more veges and salad, make matza balls) and then this weekend all the il's are coming for Passover round 2. They couldn't be here for the real seder nights so we're doing it again on sat night. (we're not exactly super traditional jews  )
anyway, i'll be glad to have family around and i'm also looking forward to the once-a-year yummies. i'm not even gonna bother logging as it's too complicated to figure out all these recipes. this is special occasion food and meals so i will enjoy it (w/portion control) thoroughly.
hope you all have a good week. and to those who celebrate easter--happy easter.
:flowerforyou: peace out--0 -

God bless you, Stacy-- have a wonderful time with your family!0 -
Sorry but I have to vent for just a second.
Do any of you find that its easier to take the kids on an outing than to have to explain to Dad where he's going, how long the kids will last, the rules the kids know they have to follow etc etc etc?? I mean I really appreciate that he's taking them out today so that I can have a couple hours to myself, but after telling him 4 times how to get there, and when they need to be home so the kids can eat lunch and get to school I was ready to just take them myself!
UGH!
anyway now I'm off to do my workout....with no interruptions YEAH that will be a first!0 -
It IS hard...you're the Mom and you have made yourself the expert on exactly what works with the kids. However, remind yourself that it's worth the work to get your husband to take the kids out for a couple of great reasons: 1. It's so refreshing to have that time to yourself! 2. You are fortunate to have a husband who WANTS to be involved in special time with the kids. He might need a little help but after a few tries, he'll probably be able to handle things much better without so much preparation from you!
Keep up the good work! Some things (like this kind of planning) get easier as the kids get older! Other things...well, they're still gifts from God, no matter how old they are and what kinds of questions or problems they may have!0 -

All I have to say, Marla, is that after I have had to ask my children for forgiveness for about the 6th time this week for blowing up at them, and there are only THREE of them...you are my hero! Keep up the good work! And great job finding time to exercise in the middle of all of your other responsibilties!0 -
Kids loved the calzones I think next time we will try feta cheese and spinach as they ate everything which is unusual.
Didnt workout as planned this morning set my alarm but didnt turn it on:frown: All was not lost I took my son out for a bike ride for a full hour up and down hills etc etc not an easy route but time flies when we go out it is fun.
Shred tomorrow and and 30 min jog got clean the kids room tomorrow hubby is off this week another rest week it really throws my routine right out the window as much as I love having him home and his new job is great he gets to spend more time with me and the kids it is still taking time to adjust to him being home this much.
Looked after my friends little ones today so 6 kids in my house it was fun I enjoy having a house full some people say I am bonkers but I love the craziness off it all. We played wii fit for a while I broke my record at 10 mins super hula hoop omg it nearly killed me and now a new record to break aarrrgghh.
Going for a soak in the tub now then off to bed.0
