Marla have you seen the new Burger King kids meal commercial with the rap about Squarepants? (I know I know like you have so much time to sit and watch tv...maybe you can google it or youtube it) anyway it makes me think of you everytime I see it

Husband survived outing with the kids. I was happy to have the time to myself, so the 5 minutes of "directions" were totally worth the 2 hrs I had alone.

The sun is shinning again today so hopefully we will get outside and it enjoy it. I pulled the muscle in my calfs (calves? moo moo) the other day and they are getting worse before they get better. Hopefully I can do a workout and stretch them out a little. Weigh in is tomorrow....pretty sure I will be throwing the scale thru our already broken bedroom window. On a positive note Measurement day is coming up too....(I only measure once a month) and hopefully it will show results I'm not seeing on the scale.

Gotta run. Hope everyone has a lovely day.

this little piggy went to passover---
(well of course there were no real piggies at passover since pigs aren't kosher  )
but i sure enjoyed my apple crumb cake yesterday and choc chip pancakes and potato pancakes tonight.

a funny--yesterday i estimate that i took in 4000 cals (cuz i ate the whole cake less one piece for daughter). that alone was like 1500 cals. and then the rest.... so if i were 16 ft tall (acc to another recent poster) that'd be the right amt. too bad i'm only 5 4.

worked out yesterday and today so damage is maintained. and i've had my fill of passover indulgences so rest of family time should be smooth sailing.

i know i said i'd stay away, but i finished my cooking till tomorrow. you're all so irresistible!

    now i really must skedaddle!
    talk next week--

    talk next week--

mmmm...sounds yummy! i'm planning on doing a little cheating this weekend, although dh will be there, so he'll probably help keep me under control.

in other news, i'm back down to 168, but still no TOM. i'm starting to get nervous. it's been a weird week. first i noticed that my registration had expired(apparently in maine, they don't send you anything in the mail), then got all confused as to where to renew it. (they don't do it at the dmv, i had to go to town hall) the yesterday morning, dh almost got creamed by a moose standing in the middle of the hwy. that was quite a scare. i haven't even gone shopping for easter stuff yet, and we're leaving for mass tomorrow. yikes!!

i hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend! :flowerforyou:

Wow-- okay, so we're a little quiet here this week, eh, Ladies?

WitchiePoo over here is at it again-- my kids want to color Easter eggs, they better clean this filthy house, first. And I'm not talking the "toilets, floors, windows" cleaning-- I'm talking about picking up the crap they leave in their path every time one of these little hurricanes blows through a room. I'm so sick of it--

So, "Mom, Mom, when are we doing the Easter eggs? Are we gonna start 'em now, huh, Mom? Huh?"

"We'll start 'em, my little pretties, when you clean up this house and not a moment sooner-- you best get busy."

    I love my life. :grumble:

Okay-- they tidied the abode, and we colored the eggs-- take a gander.

Lotsa eggs to hide tomorrow-- they want to hide all 10 dozen-- :noway: Uh-- we'll see, honey.

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow-- Happy Easter to all who celebrate--
  • Thanks for starting the thread, Marla! Glad you had a great weekend! It's always so awesome to get together with old friends! :)

Ok, a question for all of the moms...since moms are notoriously famous for being obsessed with poop, although usually not their own... Since I started MFP, I have had very rare BM's, and I think I used to pretty much go every day before. I don't feel constipated or bloated or anything, and I am losing weight. Do you think it's just because I am eating less and more healthy food? Sorry for the tmi, but I just keep wondering what is going on!?!

Hope everyone is having a great Monday! I had a busy day but managed to run three miles for the first time since college! Yeah! I also started the push-ups challenge and the first day went well! :)

    Kathy

Kathy, actually I'm glad you brought this up. I joke with my husband all the time "I gotta eat crap in order to crap!" I just don't go very often anymore...unless I eat unhealthy. My hubby's philosophy is that because I'm eating healthier foods my body is using more of the food than it is expelling. I don't know what to think of it, but that's what he thinks.

Anyone else want to chime in on this lovely TMI issue?

Oh how I love a good poop talk! I think the lack of the issue here is as my husband tried to explain to me the other day that pooping is your bodies way of getting rid of the excess "garbage" and since I'm eating good foods there is nothing to get rid of. But who would want to take the advise of an active pooper?? lol

just saying "hi". hope your weekend was fun! and for those that celebrate easter--i hope your day was especially blessed.

i did a LOT more eating than i planned--incl a giant brunch buffet at the local casino/hotel where our family was staying. all was yummy and don't regret it per se, but i am bummed that my pictures of the "thinner" me are not that thin. i definitely have farther to go than i thought. but i'm keeping my goals the same b/c they're achievable and then i can reassess later.

i will need to do super extra workouts this week to get back on track (and sweat out the salt).
i'm a little discouraged, but i knew this was a long journey and that it would take major committment on my part.
i guess, most of all, i'm just sad that i look so heavy, so not how i see myself in my mind's eye. well, enuf moaning...tomorrow i get moving full steam ahead.

    :drinker:

ps--i put pics in my profile--tank top from now, red sweater from oct 08 (still not my normal size but i don't have digital pics from that time of my life).

sara--i know you rep beachbody stuff--but my main question is about turbo jam. which turbo jam do you do? i did an search on amazon and saw there are several versions.

also, is it high impact--lots of jumping, lots of squats? i would greatly appreciate your input.

and finally, how are you and your dh and family doing? still thinking of you and praying for peace for you all.

we're here melinda! i'll start the new thread--late in the day but still there.
  • Took the kids out for a walk today since the sun is finally shining in CO. Well I walked and they rode their scooters. Just wondering if it is humane to tie a retractable leash to them when they are on their scooters?? :grumble: Because me SAYING "when you get to the turn stop and wait for me because cars come over that and do not look." actually means "when you get to the turn go ride up that person's driveway and back down as fast as you can without even thinking about the chance a car will come through and hit you then dissappear out of site" :grumble:
