Do you think it is possible for boobs to get perkier? I feel like my boobs are a bit saggy :( I am lifting heavy weights etc so will this help? Obviously the boobs aren't a muscle so when I work my chest muscles is this helping my breasts?

Can I hope that they will be a little more perky when I lose the weight or should I just not get my hopes up at all?

(Sorry my questions are a bit all over the place, i am supposed to be studying for an exam and my brain is a bit mushier than normal so I thought I would take a boob assessing break).

To a degree yes, but it depends on what kind of lifting you are doing.

Incline bench press will strengthen your upper pectoral muscles, which could raise your girls up a bit. Other than that, implants.

Can you elaborate a little bit please? Are there special ones for the boob area?
  • Just with doing all the push ups in the 30DS both my husband and myself have noticed my boobs are perkier. There is hope.

OK cool. lol I am alright with them. Implants are a tad extreme for me.

The pirkyness or lack there of is directly related to elasticity of your skin. Some people's skin are stretchier than other and without proper bras/ bra wearing the skin around the boobs begin to fall to gravitys demise against us causing sagging. There is no way to really un stretch the skin/be perky again but chest exercises could help a little. I suppose to prevent further sagging wear a bra at alll times unless it's shower time or happy happy fun time. I wear a bra almost 24/7 and have for years and my boobs (34dd) don't even move when I take off my bra. I think they're scared if they sag they'll be confined to a bra even more.

Pushup bras also do wonders. ;) Heh. Yes, shoulder press and other such chest presses should tighten things up.

OK that is interesting. Thank you. I did think it would be something to do with the skin.

Boobs are mainly made up of fatty tissue so if you go and lose a lot of body fat, you are going to go down in boob size. Typically, they are the first to lose too. Depending on your age pretty much determines how your boobs are gonna sit. The older you get the more they tend to droop.
If you have kids and breast feed that effects them as well. Not that this is part of your question, but all this is from personal experience.
I went down in size and drooped due to losing body fat and breast feeding.

and does a flatter tummy make them look bigger by comparison?

Everyone that I know that has lost a significant amount of weight has also lost their boobs, problem is they don't just "get smaller" they umm.... look like 2 deflated balloons on your chest. There really is no way around this other than surgery.

I have a friend who is a fitness model, she started at 240lbs 10yrs ago...... her breasts were like a pair of long tube socks you just took off from wearing all day, she literally folded them up into her bra or bikini top and prayed they would not fall out from under the underwire.... :(

Sadly for me, I am on my way down that road too, but I will at least look good with clothes on and thank goodness for push up bras, my friend finally after all this time went the route of surgery. She also had a tummy tuck done too because she has had a 6pack for years but the loose skin hid it.

Best of luck, I don't know about you but I will exchange big boobs for a small *kitten* any day !! ;)

I guess I will find out when the lbs are gone. I wouldn't mind to be honest as long as I get a flat belly :)
  • I've been doing group training sessions twice a week at local gym, which involves a lot of intense training with weights and Yesterday I was able to tense my chest muscles and make my boobs lift up!!! So depending on what weight exercises you do it is possible to tone up your chest muscles which will improve your boobs. It also depends how big your boobs are as well.

I've found my friends to become saggier the more I lost weight but have no fear...
...after a discussion with a PT, I have been told that inclined bench presses and chest workouts should make our friends that much better !

Also, I've seen it for myself hehe...

If your boobs don't go down in cup size (i.e back size goes down say from a 38 to 32 but the cup size is still a DD) when you lose weight then they will start to look even bigger. I've been there when I lost nearly 4 stone about 5yrs ago.

I did think I would get a few reply's like this. Yea I would happily have saggy boobs and be smaller :) I am not particularly bothered by them but I just thought it might be nice for them to be a bit perkier. Oh well. We can't have it all!

I would say that your lifting can't hurt! The problem with boobs is that if they have gotten saggy it is normally due to the ligaments stretching and once they are strestched there is nothing you can do to shorten them again! Make sure you wear the correct bra at all times and maybe as the skin shrinks they will improve! Strengthening the muscles underneath will also help a bit!!

    Good luck!!

I am a C cup now. Went down from a D. When I was thinner at age 21 my boobs were a C. I am thinking they might just stay a C. Never know though.

Hey there. I have lost 7kg & I am pretty sure it's all come from my boobs!!! Well, not all of it, but I didn't have much to start with & now this has happened --- not FAIR! But I have been working my chest as well & I don't know if it's helping my situation, but I think if you're dieting & exercising & losing weight then you'll find your boobs get smaller & less floppy (I can't remember what word you used) and therefore get more perky. But I am not 100% sure.
