Wish I had seen this recipe earlier today! I would have tried them out instead of giving in and eating a whoopie pie!

Ok....i made these today--15 oz can of the Libbys pure pumpkin and a box of chocolate cake mix. Yet, when i entered the recipe for 22 servings/cupcakes, it says 94 calories per cupcake. I know two less would add more calories per cupcake, but 20 more per cupcake...hmmm... What did i do wrong?
24 cupcakes = 86 cals per cupcake0 -
I've made these before....you won't know the pumpkin is in there:)0

These sound great! May have to try them later on!0

i'm sure it depends on the cake mix you choose (brand, variety, ounces)0 -

I have made this recipe a couple of times as well. You can also add a why protein powder to the recipe to add more protein to it. You may just need to add a little more water to the mix.
If you are craving chocolate you can also put chocolate chips on top. I know it adds more calories but it does add some more flavor to the cake.0 -
Trying this very soon!0

This looks so yummy...could probably try a spice cake mix too in the fall for a seasonal cupcake:)0

Well I found the discrepancy.....
In order to get the 73 calorie cupcake, you have to use the Super Moist with the calories per serving being calculated at 1/10 of the package. My box was 1/12 of the package which is why it had more calories...320 more calories. WOW!
So, I am tossing out the ones I made yesterday and will try the recipe again. They are good, but not 94 calories per cupcake good.0 -

Finally made these last night and they are very good! I did cut one in half and put about a teaspoon of Philadelphia milk chocolate cream cheese in it and ate it - and WOW.
Funny story - my 19yr old son wasn't home last night when I made them so I put them in a large tupperware container on the counter. He called me this morning at work (he was home) and asked "What are these things on the counter - they're awesome!". Made me laugh that he liked them so much.0 -
