I'm 5'10" and as much as I'd like to be 140, I know my body won't stay there. I'm shooting for 155 and if I can make it there I'll try 150. I don't think I can get down to much less than that.

I'm 5' 10" and my goal is 160. While it would be *nice* to be lower, I am not wiling to do what it would take to maintain that low of a weight.

I'm 25, 5ft9, SW 207, CW 185, GW 149. I will be sooooo happy when I get to 168 though as that will put me in the 'healthy' range of BMI. (I know BF is more important than BMI but my fertility doctor works on BMI so for now, so do I.)

I'm 5' 10" and am currently at 148. My goal is 135 - a weight I was at a few years ago and felt fab. I have to be strict to stay there though...!

I'm 41 yrs old, 5'10 presently 160 pounds with a goal weight of approx 140# I'm not really concerned about the goal weight though, my goal size is 6/7.

I used to weigh 130-135# with 11% body fat when I was in my early 20's. I was around 145# in a size 8/9 in 2007 then gained a lot of weight due to health problems and had a lot of bedrest following a couple of surgeries. Got up to 203 pounds. I shudder thinking about it. It's been a long journey, but I've learned a lot.

    Good luck with your goals!

Height is not the only deciding factor. What is your frame size? You can find out my measuring the circumference of your wrist. My height is 5' 7" and my goal weight is below 230. Ideally...near 190, but you get the point.

I am 5'10, 47-years-old, medium frame, size 10 and I set my goal at 168 pounds. I started MFP 8/2011 at 202 pounds, size 16 and pushin' size 18. I now weigh 169.6. I weighed 140 when I was 17 years old--after dieting and that was too small for my frame. My bones showed. I weighed between 155 to 165 for many years and that was good for me at that time in my life, but I am more muscular now and also more comfortable with my body as I've aged. My BMI and my health is good.....My main goal is to daily commit to "be better".... physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I'm new to MFP, just two days in. I'm 5'9". I'm currently at 230 and my goal is 180. I was 180 when I graduated high school and maintained it my first two years in college. Once I get there, I'll probably aim for 170ish, so I fall into my healthy range. I was a size 12 when I was 180, and would really love to be a 10.

I'm 5'10" and started out at 305 lbs! I have always been heavy, but am currently at 188. A lot of people are telling me I should stop now. I told my mom I still have the goal of 165 so a loss of 23 more lbs and she (a nurse) thought that would be too thin for my frame. I think I'm going to still go for it and decide when I get there. I definitely want to lose another 14 so I'm at the "Healthy" category of BMI. I welcome any and all friend requests as well-- please include a message if you'd like to request me :-)

People gain weight in their wrists too......best way to decide is a healthy BMI range and where you feel good in your skin.

Wow. I need to stay away from these types of threads!! LOL. I'm 42, between 5'9 and 5'10. I'm currently 205 and my goal weight has always been around 175. My lowest weight (when I used scales) was 182. I felt good then, but knew I had room for more loss. I need to keep my eye on feeling good and looking good, because reading some of your numbers a good 20 lbs below my goal weight, and still wanting to go lower makes me worry I'm farther from my ideas than I thought!

My goal weight was originally 180 and I am 5'10" - I am quite a bit lighter than that now, but I was definitely healthy at that weight. Don't worry about what other people's goals are - you know your own body better than anyone else. If your really aren't sure what works for you, ask your doctor. Mine told me anything between 160-190 was healthy for me, which is a lot more than many of the other ladies, but wearing a Size 4 dress at 165 pounds, I know the doctor was right.

I'm aiming for 160 and then re-evaluating. The trouble with being tall is there's a huge range of "healthy" weight based on body type... (I think it's between 130 and 180 for someone who's 5'10"?) It depends on what your body type is. If I'm not happy at 160 I'll try for 150, and so on and so forth. :)

That huge range is part of the problem! I know, I'll know when I get there. Part of my 'problem' is that I'm healthy now according to my blood work and physical from my Dr. I just know, and he agreed, that the extra weight, and not being fit, only open the door for health problems later. I'm working on closing that door. :) I want to have energy for my boys, especially the 7 year old. I want to still feel good in 20 years when I can retire. AND I want to look good while doing all of that!

A size 4 at 165?? THOSE are numbers I like to read! Because, I'd be THRILLED with a size 10, and able to run a 5k!

Size 4 at 165 could be hard to achieve if you're not fine boned. Last summer when I was super in shape and fit, I could fit into a 3 but not button them because of my hips, and my hips were poking out a bit so there was no way I would ever get them zipped up.

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but frame is such a big thing when it comes to us taller ladies. :)

No rain on my parade! :) I have no visions of being a size 4! I've not been since I was 4! As I said, I'd be thrilled to be a 10, and realistically have been dreaming of a 12!

Size 4 at 165 is difficult to achieve without having a low body fat % and high lean body mass. I am *NOT* fine boned (quite the opposite actually), but I am pretty "lean" and "compact" at this point. Also, I ONLY wear a Size 4 in dresses - I am a 6-8 in pants and pretty much a 6 in skirts and S or XS in shirts.

Also, I was healthy at 180+ pounds and Size 12 pants - it doesn't really matter what your size or weight is, it just matters that you are healthy. Period.

I'm 5'10" and am currently at 172lbs, my goal is around 155, but I would be happy at 160. I was at 145 before, and I looked sick. Some people could pull it off, but I didn't look healthy at all. I think 155 will be good on me, but I'll see when I get there :-)

The range between what is healthy for women our height is evident in the range of responses. I'm currently at 188 tying my heaviest weight a few years back. When I was down to 174 I was very happy with my body. Seeing others who have a goal of 140 makes me wonder and worry LOL right now I'm aiming at small goals. 185 first and then 180 and so on. My big goal is to reach 174/173 again. Normal BMI. Anything after that will be tackled when I reach that point.
