Hiya... I'm not on this diet but was interested to read quite a bit about it today. I am surrounded by people doing this diet... the one thing that is really puzzling me is the effect of quick weight loss on the skin. What is the feedback from the manufacturer on this issue?

Pro-HCG threads are discouraged in the main forums. This diet is unhealthy, unsustainable, and not promoted by MFP.

I am going to warn you, this is not going to be pretty. Stand back.

You will not get many supportive remarks on this "diet" on this board.
It is a starvation diet. Of course you lost weight eating only 500 calories a day.
    everyone would.

Hey im not too sure what the manfacture says but ive known people to do it and have positive effects. I do have to Say I understand not many people will support my decision. Ive tried many things to loose weight even following the MFP way. I had my gaul bladder removed a year ago and eversince then it has been hard for me to eat without getting sick and on the HCG diet ive not only lost weight but have not gotten sick from eating. I do believe that this has helped me out alot and I do not feel hungry or feel like im starving myself. I believe everyone can have their own opnion. I do have to say if anyone is looking to start the HCG diet or have problems with the HCG diet I reccomend you read the NEWPounds and Inches and I reccomend a great cookbook that helps your foods to not be boring or bland. check out the HCG DIET Gourmet Cookbook ive gotten lots of good ideas!

Everyone I know, myself included, who has used HCG has gained all their weight back at an alarming rate once they stop the HCG and resume eating any healthy amount of carbs.

    It's not an opinion. It's a fact.

HCG (the hormone) is ineffective for weight loss and eating 500 calories per day is tantamount to starvation. You may not have symptoms now because you just started, but this is a really poor decision on your part.

    Please read the following:

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2405506
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/786001
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/595585
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3609673

Oh yeah, and the FDA has already declared it illegal to use for weight loss:

DID you follow the exact way to get off the hcg? and did you watch what you ate? Not trying to be mean or anything just trying to see why it did not work that well for you.

The FDA has declared the use of HCG in that manner as illegal.

If you want to lose weight so badly, do it the right way not resort to gimmics and other fads that do not work.

OH damn! I forgot to ask my HCG user questions. What are your current fitness goals and progress towards them? Current squat, bench, and deadlift? Average time for running/walking a mile? How have these improved since the beginning of your HCG protocol?

WOW is that all it is to you bench pressing and ****! Really thats not all life is about and actually yes I can do squats and all that BUT HONESTLY that has NOTHING to do with the HCG its all about aplying yourself.

Squat/Bench/Deadlift are the 3 benchmarks for testing strength. I also asked about your average time for a mile as a standard for testing cardiovascular conditioning. Thank you for proving my point that HCG has nothing to do with improving fitness.

For people who think that this is a lifestyle or something to do year round its NOT lifestyle its a good Kick in the *kitten* to get you started and hopefully after the diet you would be on the right path and make better food choices. it was never intended to be a lifestyle.

NO PRoBLEM thats what happens when you try to bully someone that shows your maturity as well. Honestly we are all here for the same reason. To loose weight and live a healither life style so why does it matter to you in how other make their choice in doing so. I think it is a waste of time and energy to bully/fight with other people because of the decision that they have made.
