Calories taken in vs calories left over

If I'm supposed to eat 1200 calories/day and what I burn off working out is added onto my daily caloric intake, how much should I really eat? Is it good to leave a defecit of 300 calories or should you eat close to what you are allotted? I have been leaving about 300-400 calories not eaten when I am allowed to have 1600. Not sure if I am doing it wrong or if it's a good thing. I lost 4 lbs in the first week, but is that too much? I know you usually lose more in the beginning. Just want to do it right.

The net calories they give you should already have the deficit calculated. Take a look at your goals section, it should tell you what your deficit is! You should eat back all of your calories. If you are working out hard, which I am sure you are
your body needs the fuel to keep going! So I would eat back as many calories as you can. Hope that helps!!
