Hi everyone,
I am going shopping later for the week. Little by little I have been substituting healthy options in our pantry and fridge. Can you tell me what items are on your grocery list? Give me some ideas of things I should be picking up. Any "must haves"?

So For breakfast, typically I eat 2 eggs on ezekiel bread or Kashi Oatmeal. Sometimes only half a sandwich and a piece of fruit (asian pear)
Lunch: A salad with diced onion, tomato, plum, 1/2 avocado, 1 boiled egg, flax seeds, lemon juice, dash of honey, pure olive oil and 1/2 sea pac salmon patty cut up, or shrimp. DELICIOUS
Snack: Pistacios, 1/2 of a sweet potato cut up into slices, seasoned with garlic, and baked (yum!), or an apple/pear.
Dinner: Typically go out with boyfriend.

always fresh fruits and veggies, organic milk, organic meats, raw nuts, hummus. Absolutely nothing with the word enriched in it and nothing processed.0

My list is long and varied...
If you want to try some fun stuff, that tastes great and my kids and Hubby eat it as well going back for seconds.
Try some of the recipes at Skinnytaste.com you can put the recipes in a recipe box and then load them onto a shopping list. print it out from the computer of load the app on your smartphone and *poof* a shopping list. And the best part --- It is FREE!
So mainly after getting an idea of what I want to make I use the list to stock the fridge and pantry. It has been so easy. Hope this helps.0 -
I get the following items each week:
Chobani plain greek yogurt (non-fat)
Fresh strawberries
Broccoli, asparagus, and salad makings
Curly parsley
Mary's Gone Crackers - Black Pepper flavor
Eggs
(We buy our meat in bulk at a local farm. But we get 85% lean burger, chicken breasts, and 99% fat free ground turkey.)
Cascadian Farms Purely O's cereal
Almond Milk
I can't think of anything else we buy on a regular basis. Sorry! Hope this helps at least a little bit. :-)0 -
Silk Vanilla Almond or Coconut Almond milk is a must have for me I eat it with peanut butter multi-grain cheerios, so good. I also always get laughing cow cheese, bananas, and cucumbers.0

Oh and lemons are ALWAYS on the list for putting the juice on our salads (along with olive oil, garlic salt, and freshly chopped parsley. Yummm!)0

I by alot of fresh fruit, fresh veggies, and fresh seafood. I go grocery shopping weekly.0

I ALWAYS keep salad fixings in the fridge. I buy romaine hearts and chop them up, then put them in a bowl. The trick is to put paper towels on the bottom of the bowl AND place paper towels on top before you store it. Keeps the lettuce from getting to much moisture and rotting. My salad keeps fresh for a week! I always have it to grab without any effort.0

*Large container of Plain Fage 0%
Fresh Berries-one or several kinds
Apples
Kashi Regular Go-Lean (not crunch) Cereal (for adding to Fage...super high protein)
Green Giant Healthy Weight veggie mix (frozen)
*Eat Great, Look Great Pure Protein Bars-Chocolate Peanut Butter (for in a pinch)
Baby Carrots
Deli Turkey
Cheese Sticks
*Ole Extreme Wellness High Fiber Low Carb Tortillas
*Joseph's Oat Bran and Stone Ground Whole Wheat Pita Bread (only 60 calories and super SOFT!!!)
Jimmy Dean's Turkey Sausage Crumbles (for my egg mugs)
Reduced fat shredded cheese (for same)
Large package of Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
Frozen Shrimp (take out what you need for a quick lunch-shrimp quesadilla on Ole tortilla)

This is my weekly list. Since we've been eating at home for almost every meal (dinner out one weekend night), I have to shop every 4-5 days instead of my usual Sunday night run - the kids seem to be in grow mode and I can't keep the fridge stocked!0 -

Lean proteins. I buy cold water wild caught fish from Wal mart, chicken breast sometimes thighs, tuna, pork tenderloin, smoked chops,turkey.( I always have this in freezer. When I catch them on sale I buy it, cook and freeze it)

I hope didn't leave anything important out. People eat diffrently. I eat pretty much everything but some folks don't eat grain or glutens or sugar... I try to stay away from processed foods. Good luck and hope it helps.0
