Yes, because maybe then we could work on it. I can't work on something if I don't know it's broken.

I think if the marriage was at all functional you should have some idea of an unhappy participant.. but in general I think if I was told my spouse was "unhappy" I would say "Suck it up buttercup ..no one said it would be perfect"

I agree! If you don't know you can't work on it!

Why would you NOT want to know?

Absolutely! How else could we work on it? Lack of communication (either the unhappy one being unwilling to share, or the other spouse being unwilling to receive) has killed way too many marriages.

Yes, of course . I love my husband and would want to know if he was unhappy, because I wouldn't want him to be! Without honest communication, a relationship is in trouble.

I would definitely want to know. No question. I'm not sure I'd want him to stay with me, if he were unhappy.

Certainly! I'd hope if I married someone I would care enough about their feelings to want to know if they had unhappiness going on, especially if it was related to me.

Yes definitely! Things would get worse otherwise. Being honest and open is the only way to be in a relationship in my humble opinion. If the partner loves yoy they'd work hard on changing it.

I agree! I want to know! I just found out that my husband hasn't been happy in our marriage for the past 2 years but he never said anything nor did he appear to be unhappy. (married 16 years)
