MFP'ers: Recommend me a bathroom scale.

My el-cheapo Taylor bathroom scale seems to be wildly imprecise. I can step on, step off, step on again, and see a 5-lb difference. So, What are you using, and would you buy it again?

I remember an article in Consumer Reports about this a year or two back. To summarize - get a digital over mechanical scale.

Just go to a Walgreens or something. They actually have really good ones there. I believe my parents got ours from somewhere such as there, and it works accurately!

My scale's a bit weird too but not that weird. But I'm looking for a new one. I've heard great things about the Weight Watchers scales. Although, they are not cheap at all.

I have the Weight Watcher's Digital Scale. It was at Costco for $15. Most importantly, it doesn't fluctuate when you step on and off like my old one did.

i have one of the weight watchers scales. it was $25 at bed bath & beyond. works great! it is the first scale i've owned that was within half a pound of my weight at the doctor's office & my gym.

I have a 20$ taylor digital one. it did that at first. I would step on it a few times for it to get the same number. It quit doing that, it's usually less the a pound off when I get weighed at doctor's offices.
It the glass one from walmart.

I use the Weight Watchers Digital Scale and brought it at Target for $20. It has pretty accurate for me and is not far off from when I weigh in at the Dr's office.

if you go on that website, it shows you that costco had it on sale for $14.99 but its usually $19.99
this scale works really well but if you step on it right away, it won't turn on. you have to literally pick it up and put it back down so that the lights flash on. its kind of annoying but once you get used to it, its a great scale.

Mine are salter digital ones and you can programme them with your sex, age, height and fitness level so they do your body fat % and water %. I find them pretty accurate. I would never get anything other than digital now!

I like my eat smart scale (search for eat smart bathroom scales on amazon, I have the glass one) it has a "step-on" feature so you don't have to tap it or anything. It gives consistent results - a bit too consistent sometimes like if you weigh wearing a light t-shirt then weigh again without it soon after it'll give the same result. you have to pick up something heavy & weigh again for it to notice small changes. BUT if you are a sane person and weigh 1x a day it's great and I like knowing that it is an accurate result, that I don't have to move it all over the bathroom and weigh 20x and try to average all the results to see what I really weigh.

i just bought this one. i used it at my boyfriends for the past year (until we broke up and then i had to buy my own lol) and it is awesome. if you step on twice it will give you the same reading and if you hold 5 lbs it will actually show a 5lb gain..very accurate and worth $35 i think.

I find mine does that so I try to make sure I stand in the same spot on it each time - that seems to do the trick.
