I only drop bro on my close friends. I got to admit, I don't like it at all when someone says bro to me and they don't even know my name.

    and this also

My 11-year old daughter has this thing with calling me "dude". It is getting better because she is tired of the 20-minute long lectures about calling me "dude" and not "mom"

    I'm guilty of this too

My younger brother always calls me Bro or dude...so I call him sis or pookie

It bugs me more when people try to shorten my name...it's 3 letters long!!,

I don't like to be called "boy", "chief", or "homeboy"....bro doesn't bother me unless it's said in the wrong tone. I call everyone "dude" or "man" male or female....hahah.

Usually get called "bro" in WoW... and I generally respond with "sure thing, mate". Doesn't really bother me. What irks me though, is guys whom I barely know SMS me with words like "dear", "sweetie", "honey". Ugh :noway:

My guildies tend to call me "boss" though... and I think I like that LOL

And you too would get the 20-minute lecture :noway:

    It starts with "EXCUSE MEEEE??????"
    Ends with "DO YOU UNDERSTAND????????"

Woops, I meant using the word "dude". I do think I said it to my mom once though. She gave me this akward look & I said "that just wasn't right" & that was the end of that.

Seriously, if I used any of these I'd get laughed out of town given that I live in the UK. When I first moved here I was surprised to be called "mate" or "love" but I have had to get used to it.

When someone calls me bro, I usually just grunt in return, or occasionally add in a knuckle bump. Happens to me a lot.
