Ok so pissed because my goal is 165 by Friday and I was well on my way with losing and was 167 yesterday before lunch and now today I'm back up to 168...wtf because I under ate a little yesterday actually because I was busy and I burned 700+ cal anyway...anyone have a tip to help me meet my time crunch besides epic amounts of gym because I can"t do more then like an hr a day because of work. I did 400cal at the gym before work this am as it is. And don't say anything like" its water weight and your ok or eat more" because I eat a lot and personally my body doesn't really hold water much I really don't have that issue ever and I drink lots of water. Any other help or advice? I hate to give up when I was so close!

Unless you have ingested an excess of 3.500 calories - IT'S NOT FAT.
Could be water your muscles are holding if you've been working them like crazy.
Maybe you need to have a good bowel movement.
Maybe you need to pee.
Maybe you stood funny on the scale.0 -

^^^^^ LOL, but true
What's the rush anyways? You could have se the deadline a bit earlier and not been trying to come up with last minute fixes...0 -
I suppose I don't have a real reason I want it to happen by fri except that I have rewards for myself every time I loose 5lbs and at 165 it's a new pair of sneakers and I really wanted to wear them out this weekend...lame I know but I was soo close and they are soo nice but I wana earn them not cheat....0

I tried the scale like 5 time over an hr as I got ready for work. I will try again tomorrow when i wake up too, I do think your comment about my muscles could be I drank SO MUCH water yesterday after I worked out because I had a headache and assumed I was dehydrated.0 -

I was going to post my water meme but then I saw this:

I think you should find a way, somehow, to relax a little bit and perhaps consider putting the scale away in your closet for 2 weeks. I think the above behavior is showing signs of "getting out of hand".

Like others have said, you can't gain pounds over night unless you really binge. Not to be disgusting, but I did do a little personal research and found that a bowl movement can help you lose over a pound. Yes, I weight myself before and then after. Urination all plays a key roll.
If you are going to stick to weighing yourself every day, the best time to do it is when you first wake up (after you take care of the business I mentioned above). If you weight goes up, realize it's NOT fat.
I like the suggestion of putting the scale away for a few weeks.0 -

Okay there are positive ways to frame things and negative and I assume from your negative comment you took what I said the wrong way. I didn't mean I'm in-human I meant I've considered these options and doubt they are the reason so can anyone suggest others...I never said that...I was just curious because it hardly happens...I wasn't being rude.
Also to Sidesteal I don't do that normally I did that because I thought maybe something was off so I tried it in diff parts of the floor in the house, normally I only use the scale once in a while unless I notice an inconsistency then I check more often.
I"m not taking it that hard....maybe the title suggested otherwise I was just a little curious as to why it happened because it doesn't often happen to me....I guess it's good to know it can't be fat..seriously though guys your taking this too seriously it was a curiosity question no need to lecture me...I guess maybe I came off more upset then I am....I duno. it's no big forget it guys.0 -
I'm sorry if you felt that was a negative comment. But I mean it: there isn't anything left to say if you refuse to be realistic. Everyone fluctuates. Everyone can retain water. You are up ONE POUND. That's 2 cups of water. Your body isn't different from everyone else's, you are perfectly capable of holding that much water. You could have that much in your stomach for all you know.0

It royally SUCKS when you're trying to lose weight and you've been losing all week but on weigh-in day for some reason the scale goes up 2 lbs, but it happens. I am guessing it happens to everyone, I know it does to me. Then you fall into the trap of trying to trick the scale. It isn't worth it!
My advice: IF you are doing everything right, put away the scale for a week and treat yourself to new shoes tomorrow. You are rewarding yourself for your good BEHAVIOR, not some arbitrary number on the scale! Good luck~0 -

I agree. Don't weigh yourself so often!0 -
thanks that helps a lot actually it does put things into perspective better, thanks guys for the advice. I think I will let myself have the shoes and take a few days to let myself re-set before I weigh in. sorry if I didn't make my point well enough at first but eventually you all got what I was asking.0

I think this is great advice.. it does suck but it happens.. to us all. If you have done all you can and stayed on the right path then by all means, reward yourself and take a break from the scale..0 -
i have literally missed most of my mini goals by ounces... getting really angry at the scale... and hitting my goal a day or two later... we can't really predict how the scale is gonna weigh us because of all the different factors.. and like you i had steadfast goals once and got so frustrated for not hitting them in MY time that i gave up, and since then had gained back 33 lbs. i've lost 19 of those 33 but mainly by setting small goals to keep me motivated, but if i don't hit them.. **shrug** i'm still gonna keep going and i'm still gonna try to lose... i think if you end up so close to your goal by friday your reward for pushing through should be whatever your reward was planned.. regardless you've lost and you should be proud! and don't let the scale discourage you, b/c it sucks.0

Congrats on your weight loss. I'm around the same weight and I can't lose 2 pounds in a week. So, I give you props for trying. I'm only 5 pounds away from my goal, but I've only lost 4 pounds since 1/1/12. Yes, it's frustrating, but I'll have this healthier body for the rest of my life.
Like everyone has said your weight fluctuates based on many factors - hydration, sodium, bathroom habits, etc.
How about this? Get your new shoes this weekend and use them to get off the remaining weight you have to lose? It's still a reward for your new body and you know you're gonna get to 165 at some point. Seems like a win/win to me.0 -

Absolutely correct. DONT STRESS. Really, a pound isnt worth it. Relax, its almost Friday0 -

hmmm....wow thanks your right...that helps too and I think I will reward myself fri and feel good that i'm sure very soon I"ll hit my 1wg of 165.0 -

Stop weighing so much. Pick a day and weigh the same time every week. I always do Tuesday morning as soon as I wake up. And forget about the scale the other 6 days. And understand that your weight will fluctuate. Saying you don't want to hear that doesn't make it untrue.0 -
go buy the dang sneakers for god sake0
-
I'm in the same boat, kinda got over it now though. I wanted to go home today and tell my parents I had lost a stone but I ended up magically gaining 2 pounds so i'm back to 11 pounds lost, but they were really happy when they saw me and they know i'm working hard at it, and thats what counts to me. Perhaps you should buy the trainers anyway and think of something else you can do when you get there. It's not the end of the world, it takes time to lose weight and sometimes our bodies aren't playing the game with us, cut yourself some slack, you know you've worked hard and you'll get there in the next week just stop being so hard on yourself! also only weigh yourself in the morning after the toilet because thats your real weight! you could be there and not even know it! x0

I did address this, I don't usually use the scale everyday and I don't remember ever saying I did, just because I commented I used it yesterday and this morning does not mean it's my normal routine you're assuming things. I only tried it several times this morning because I thought maybe it was where it was on the floor since I live in an old apt. Also to Sidesteal I don't do that normally I did that because I thought maybe something was off so I tried it in diff parts of the floor in the house, normally I only use the scale once in a while unless I notice an inconsistency then I check more often.0 -

Ok...I see you suggest patience. That's good. But then I notice you have link for "Rapid Weight Loss". Stating that a couple of clients lost 20-25 lbs in 3-4 days? WHAT? And that's healthy? ok0 -
Friday afternoon I weighed 135 lbs, Monday afternoon I weighed 141 lbs and yesterday afternoon I weighed 134.5 lbs. The point of this post? It's water weight. I didn't freak out on Monday since I knew I was super bloated (lots of sodium over the weekend plus TOM).0

first of all please dont give up you have worked way to hard to give up but did you know that your body weight can differ 2 lbs during the day always remember that weighing yourself in the am after the morning duties and with no clothes on is the best.0

Same here...I set mini-goals but never give myself a deadline. I think for me personally it would stress me out too much if I did. I like to think of this as a lifestyle change so I'm OK with it taking a little longer for me to reach my goals...doesn't mean I won't get there, it just might take me a bit longer than I'd like but definitely not the end of the world.
I agree with a previous poster that said you should enjoy your new shoes anyway. You've worked hard and deserve it ~ you've already lost 21 pounds ~ so reward yourself anyway.0
