How do you get your protein?

Hi,
I'm trying to get about 30% of my calories from protein. It's not working out that well. I'm wondering how other people fit protein into their diet. I don't like yogurt, or smoothie like things. I also didn't want to use a protein powder. Currently now get a lot of my protein from meat. How many oz of meat do you eat?

For Protein I like cottage cheese, eggs, and Kashi's go lean cereal which has 13 grams of protein and a good amount of fiber too.0

All great sources!0 -
i do a lot of eggs, sometimes three a day.. at least 3-4 oz of meat (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp/fish, turkey) with dinner, up to 8 if i made enough. cottage cheese, peanut butter, canned tuna for lunch a lot...
but i also do greek yogurt and protein powder - i dont think i could get as high as i do with out the powder..and i usually dont hit 40% anyway.0 -
I get my protein from;
egg whites
salmon
plain greek yogurt
reduced fat cheddar cheeese
plain ground beef
plain ground turkey
packets of tuna fish (plain)
Luna bars
turkey patties0 -
Chicken, fish, beans (black mostly), whey protein powder, almonds, sunflower kernels, and peanut butter. But i'd love to see other responses! I also like to eat mostly protein. I actually use my MFP goal as a minimum and get irritated if i'm not able to go in the red that day. And i'm getting sick of eating nuts (i've never really been a fan), and fish (never been a huge fan of that either.)0

Whey protein shakes, GNC Lean to Go shakes, protein shots, chicken and seafood.
Doc has me on 100 grams a day.
Some light string cheeses for snacks.0 -
Ahi tuna is a good source. Cook it like you would a steak.
ounce for ounce, it's higher in protein than sirloin, and lower in fat.
12 oz Ahi tuna steak provides:
360 Cal
80 g protein
130 mg sodium
150 mg cholesterol
3 g fat/0g saturated fat
40 mg calcium.
AND it tastes YUMMY!!!!0 -

I'm a vegetarian but I eat fish.
Without meat, fish is the main staple source of protein in my diet, apart from dairy products but I don't eat a lot of them, anyway.
I think I lack protein most of the time.0 -

80 grams! Where can i get one of those !? lol .0 -
I get much MUCH more than 30% of my calories from protein and have no problems doing it. I eat lean meats with lunch and dinner and eggs (or just the whites sometimes) with breakfast. I also use low fat cheeses, peanut butter, almonds, etc. which all have some protein in them. Most of mine comes from the 6 or so ounces of either chicken, turkey, lean beef, pork, or seafood that I have with the main meals.0

I prefer to get most of my protein from dark leafy greens (kale, collards, mustards), beans, nuts, brown rice, and seafood. I'm not overly excited by meat. I really just tend to cook it for my hubby how is all about animal protein.0
-
No meat or dairy......i eat luna bars, tofu, quinoa, tvp, rice protein powder, seitan, and usually get about 70-100 grams a day.0
-
beans, beans, good for your heart
high in protein and in fiber, too.
and mighty tasty, IMO.0 -
I changed my protein to 40% and easily get it...
Lots of lean meat, greek yogurt, protein shakes (home made not the pre-packaged sugary stuff), fish, seafood, lentils, quinoa etc...
Protein keeps you feeling fuller much longer than carbs do....0
