I get much MUCH more than 30% of my calories from protein and have no problems doing it. I eat lean meats with lunch and dinner and eggs (or just the whites sometimes) with breakfast. I also use low fat cheeses, peanut butter, almonds, etc. which all have some protein in them. Most of mine comes from the 6 or so ounces of either chicken, turkey, lean beef, pork, or seafood that I have with the main meals.

Ahi tuna is a good source. Cook it like you would a steak.

ounce for ounce, it's higher in protein than sirloin, and lower in fat.

12 oz Ahi tuna steak provides:
    360 Cal
    80 g protein
    130 mg sodium
    150 mg cholesterol
    3 g fat/0g saturated fat
    40 mg calcium.

    AND it tastes YUMMY!!!!

80 grams! Where can i get one of those !? lol .

That's for a 12oz steak...OMG it would take awhile to get through that one!

I prefer to get most of my protein from dark leafy greens (kale, collards, mustards), beans, nuts, brown rice, and seafood. I'm not overly excited by meat. I really just tend to cook it for my hubby how is all about animal protein.

I changed my protein to 40% and easily get it...

Lots of lean meat, greek yogurt, protein shakes (home made not the pre-packaged sugary stuff), fish, seafood, lentils, quinoa etc...
Protein keeps you feeling fuller much longer than carbs do....

    I'm a vegetarian but I eat fish.
Without meat, fish is the main staple source of protein in my diet, apart from dairy products but I don't eat a lot of them, anyway.
I think I lack protein most of the time.

    Its called 'pesco-vegetarian'

    And all great foods!!

Eggs, chicken breast, greek yogurt, 23 grams from a Frosty Chocolate Pure Protein Shake, a few from veggies like asparagus, etc. Today I ate just under 1200 calories and got 110 grams of protein. I don't like nuts anyway!!

I'm really surprised I haven't seen this answer yet with all the responses... Lean Turkey (slices, breast, whatever) it's pretty low fat and high in protein.

I also love turkey pepperoni. The stuff I buy (Hormel) is about 70 calories for 17 pieces and is 9 g I think. With a light cheese stick, this makes a pretty satisfying snack!

Eggs and cottage cheese when it's not chicken or beef. And I just started using protein powder--it's not so bad as you might think. ;) Easy way to bump up the protein without also getting too much fat or carbs.

I do protein shakes & protein bars.. outside of the protein I have with every meal (usually beef or chicken)

However I have to find a way to cut more fat from my diet. I'm trying to do 25/35/40 fat/carb/protein but Im getting to much fat in my diet
