I am just not feeling it today!! I have worked out (treadmill daily and today would be day 6 of the 30DS) and eaten healthy and within my calories for 14 days straight. I don't know if it's cause my husband just left for business for a week or it's all catching up to me or what but I just don't feel like being good. A part of me thinks I should take today off and do as I please, the other part doesn't want me to lose focus. What to do???? I can't make up my mind. :-( I need some good supportive buddies. I made my profile public so you can check out my journey thus far and hopefully add meand motivate me. Thanks

It would be okay to have what most people call a 'spike' day, but if it's just because you are feeling crap because hubby has gone on a business trip then I would suggest thinking of other things that can help.

A day off from exercise and counting calories is good for you, however, so doing this once a week, every two weeks or once a month is a good idea.

At the end of the day, it won't hurt and if you will feel comforted after it, then by all means do it. Just remember that it's a one off. But will you feel comforted from it?

Bottom line, do you really want to take a day off? If yes, just make sure it's only a day and no more, if no then don't. Only you can make the decision of what's right for you.

I used to take one day off a week, no counting calories or exercise. To mentally and physically get a break otherwise I'd feel like you do and then I'd start to find reasons not to workout and eventually stop all together.
With that you have to expect that you will be up the next day. For this reason I set up rules for my "off" day. I had to get back on track the next day and I had to be the same or less than the week before. It has worked for me. Now I only do occasional days off.

These are the days you need to commit the most... Just get up and get moving, once you are into your workout and the endorphins start kicking in you will thank yourself for doing it... I have had those days and I just talk myself to getting my exercise clothes on, then get in the car, then drive to the Y, then go in, etc, etc.... This is a lifestyle you most commit to and hold yourself accountable.... Good Luck to you....

Thanks all of you for your replies!! I took a little bit from everything all three of you said and just finished day six of 30DS. :-) Will I really feel better about skipping my workout? No, I'll just continue to stress about it the rest of the day then be mad at myself tomorrow!! Will I be able to get back on track tomorrow? Idk but I sure know it will be that much harder, or easier to say oh well, I didn't workout yesterday so why bother today? So I pushed through and made myself fire up the dvd and get to it. The baby even woke up and I had to deal with her hanging on me and still got it done. I feel so much better. Thanks again. I appreciate everyone's advice.
