Can I just give my husband away......no swap necessary!

Honey is that you? I didn't know you were on MFP!

    Ha ha ha!!!
  • I worry about you if you think you have ever seen a family on that show that isn't extreme.

Well as someone who has seen just about every episode, yes I don't think every family is extreme. Lots of them yes, but all of them, no. I worry about you if you come to a forum to judge people on the television they watch. What I watch on tv, doesn't define who I am in anyway. I'm happy, healthy, and successful with a good life. No extremes here.
  • Well of course they are extreme when you compare the two.............even when you don't, they are still.........but two opposite families can teach each other a lot...........for example, the hoarder versus the neat and orderly person with a house manager, right? We can say that it is okay to scrimp and save just as much as humanly possible..........but to the extreme, you are on a very short leash.........a leash no less that you can let up on just a tad. Just like on the fact of being neat and orderly..........there is a point where it gets to be too much.........seeing how each other live and all opens up a world of knowledge and way of being in a more healthier state than they are right now.

I know! In a lot of the episodes, they seem to even each other out. From one extreme to the other that swaps, they kind of level out. As in a filthy house versus a clean freak, usually ends up that the clean freak cools it down a little, and the filthy house cleans up more. It seems to make good changes in certain families.
  • I don't need a wife, I'd husband swap. I'm sure I'd appreciate the one I have more, like I should!

There was at least one or two episodes where they swapped husbands rather than wives!

Wife swap? No thanks. I can't handle the one I have!

    LOL

I am not a regular watcher of the show, but the ones I've seen sometimes appear scripted.

Hmm, I've never really felt any of them were scripted other than the reading of the rule changes, but I always thought that was because they wrote them out and okayed them with the crew and such.

You gotta be kidding. Mine is the only "real" wage earner in the house (she's an attorney).

I'd be down for wife swap, although I'm 120% sure the other husband would send my wife back after a couple of hours.

Red hair - the urban legends don't even begin to describe her temper
Theatre Arts / English major - she wins every argument by using 20 letter words so while I'm trying to figure out what she said 4 sentences ago, she's moved on to at least three or four other things.i can't keep up, so I give up lol

I do love her tho lol

    So have at her fellas!

Very happy with the wife I have. Already invested my time, money, heart and dreams in this relationship.

Only chance of getting a new partner is if my wife leaves me. I am 99% sure that will never happen. But even the 1% chance keeps me on my toes and working to keep her interested.

When I was 14 or so, my mom and I were contacted by Wife Swap.

My mom isn't married nor in a relationship, so they wanted our friend to pretend to be my father. We're actually really well-grounded people, but my mom has a weird job and they found her website.

We rejected. Maybe another day haha.

I found out you don't have to be legally married to be on this show.

I've never seen that one!!! I'll have to keep an eye out for it sometime.

Wow, that's.... interesting. I guess you always think a reality show is actually a reality, when in fact, sometimes it's scripted or faked! Haha.

Nope, I remember seeing at least one couple who was not married, however on the update they said they had finally gotten married.
  • Anyone also watched Trading Spouses? I like that one too, but not as much. They only trade for one week and it's a two hour show, and they don't usually switch rules. They are definitely mostly more normal families on there though.

Entertaining show. It always surprises me how some of the wives/husbands or the couple are totally closed to any new ideas and cannot see the possibility that their way is not the only way. I think the Celebrity Wife Swap is even more extreme!
