Ok, I know this has nothing to do with weight loss... BUT..
My son is turning one year old, I have the party hall, the food, the music, the clown, everything planned out. What is my problem then? I do not know what my theme is going to be.. Please help.
And do NOT say sponge bob... grrr
Thanks

Sesame Street and The Very Hungry Caterpillar were popular in our house around that age! :flowerforyou:0

dr. seuss?0

I agree with Sesame Street!0
-
A lot of people I know have done Sesame street, I'm so sick of it.. and Dr. Seuss could be a possibility0

We did Super Mario for my son's 1st birthday, and choo-choo train for his 2nd birthday. My daughter's 2nd birthday was jungle theme. Other themes: monkey, sock monkey, cars, Dr. Seuss, Yo Gabba Gabba, Thomas the train, and Cars.0

try to pick something that he likes,,,an animal that he likes, a show that he likes, a certain bug that he likes...if he likes race cars or anything like that..

what about a color? like a certain color plates, napkins, balloons, etc. At that age he probably doesn't have a favorite character of some kind.0

I love Winnie the pooh0

Curious George? I always thought that'd be a cute birthday theme0

^ This.
Or since you already have a clown, maybe a circus theme?0 -
Seriously? One year old bdays r for the parents.....bit the kid....it really doesn't matter what u do.....do an exorcist theme.0
-
We didn't have a theme for my son's first birthday (other than the obvious 1 year). Come to think of it, other than the birthday cake he made a mess of, there was very little "birthday party" ish about it...I threw down some pork chops, beans 'n'rice, sweet tea, greens, mac'n'cheese and invited the whole church over. It was really more of a grown folk party.
If you can't come up with a theme don't worry about it! Soon he'll be old enough to insist on what he wants (and tell you what *you* want to do is "soooo for babies, mom." Just have fun!0 -

lol my husband likes this idea0 -
sports, toy story, superheroes, mickey mouse, the list goes on and on.0
-
Toy Story?
Or you could just do a colour theme. Have everything multi coloured (balloons, plates, cups etc) if you cant think of a theme.0 -
yes toy story, you know- woody, buzz, jessie-- the movie.0
-
Well since you have the clown... how about a circus theme?!0
-
We did Mickey Mouse for each of my boy's 1st birthday.0

For a first birthday, I always liked jungle animals. Most little guys like monkeys and bears and the like. A monkey cake is easy to make, or you can decorate a sheet cake with cheapy safari toys. Cars, circus, or dinosaurs are other good ideas. They're generic enough to find plenty of party supplies, but allow you to really personalize it for your little guy.0

I have a 6yr old daughter & a 3yr old son. Here are some themes we've used:
Wild, wild west
Camouflage
art
Curious George
Elmo
Disney (cars maybe? We did Ariel)
Circus/Carnival
Google it!0 -
this is off the wall but what about lots of color and boxes.... kids love to play with boxes... alphabet blocks, brick boxes to build walls and little forts and just boxes to play in. My nephew loves boxes and makes hours of fun with them. Even likes to get out the crayons and color on them. He even makes his zoo with the boxes. I know like i said it's way off the wall0

Seriously, have a nice birthday cake, maybe lunch at home, invite the grandparents, aunts / uncles. If he interacts with other kids his own age in daycare, or on play dates, maybe a couple of them w/their moms.... he will not know what all the fuss is about. Just take pics of him smearing the cake on his face, and enjoy.
Otherwise, you are setting a precedent of having to out-do yourself, and worse, your friends, every year. And if you have more kids, it's gonna cost a fortune! ;-)0 -
Cute as a button!
Button cookies, button candy, button themed everything.
I need another baby.0 -
You got the clown. How about a circus theme.0
-
Why does it have to have a theme? Can't the theme just be turning one?0
