Live. Eat. Don't deprive yourself. Just everything in moderation.

I eat what I want if I'm positive I won't keep eating more of it and let things get out of control. Everyone is different. I usually eat something like a smoothie, nuts, fruit, etc. for a snack after dinner if I have leftover calories. One thing I'd like to work on is eating a more balanced diet. So if I have leftover calories and didn't eat enough veggies one day, maybe I should eat them instead of a snack?
The only way I could eat one cookie though is if that is all I had in the house to begin with. One cookie, not a whole package. Or one piece of pie, not a whole pie. Do I do that? Yes, on occasion I do and I enjoy every single bite. lol
Do what works for you but I'd say eat what you want if you can stay under your calories and not binge.

As long as you're being honest with yourself, are able to moderate yourself and not eat sweets every day, and you're not making excuses to eat junk... It's no big deal to worry about

When is it OK to eat the sweets? Well, here's my list......

    1. When you want to
    2. When you're hungry
    3. When you want to taste a yummy treat
    4. When you are working them into your calorie goal
    5. When you intend to burn them off later
    6. Even if you don't.

Life is too short to deny yourself. If you make a bunch of rules about when you are "allowed" to eat the sweets, you're going to resist, eventually, and stop trying to live a healthy lifestyle.

If you are already agonizing over this, it's not like you're going to suddenly fill all of your calorie goals with chocolate, amiright? So have a treat when you want one. Then move on, secure in the knowledge that a treat now and again is not going to instantly derail all the rest of your efforts.

Whenever you want, so long as they fit your calories.

IIFYM - If it fits your macros.

If it fits in your calories and you're reaching your recommended amount of protein and fats... enjoy!!!

I LOVE gummy worms, but the calories on them scare me. LOL Not worth it. But kids gummy vitamins - 2 of them is 15 calories. So I take them daily. Get my vitamins, my gummy fix, and all for low cal. Helps me keep the cravings under control.

I also generally try to make an effort to use something healthy if all I want is "sweet". An apple is sweet, or an orange...etc, etc. Now - that does nothing for those chocolate cravings that some have, but I'm not a big chocolate eater, so it works for me.

Absolutely. This is NOT a diet..it is a way of eating. Do not deprive yourself...especially if you have room for it at the end of the day. Enjoy, and if you are still losing, then all the better!!

I had 2 Cadbury mini eggs the other day and felt great about it. Why? Because a) I deserved it and b) not long ago I would have eaten half the bag at least. I've learned a LOT about moderation. I've also learned that nobody is perfect, and if I go about feeling bad for "caving to a craving" I'll just depress myself into a stupor instead of saying "ehh, more exercise." (Note: I don't really crave chocolate.. but you get the idea.)

    Have a piece of chocolate.

Please, if you have time watch "Forks over knives".. an incredible documentary/short film two doctors made that links the consumption of animal meats, mostly red meat with diseases/cancers. They focus on eating colorful, alive, natural, whole foods, and how miscommunicated mostly Americans are. We eat double to tripple the amount of protein we need, which activates pre-existing cancer cells etc, which is the reason our nation is the most obese, unhealthy, sick, etc. We are literally killing ourselves with the foods we are eating. If it had a mother, father etc do not eat it!! Also check out on you tube, foods that can kill you. They focus on heart disease etc and how people literally are turning their blood fatty!!!!!!

I agree  She conveyed exactly what I was feeling. In fact I think I had that exact look on my face LOL

Oh and to answer the question : whenever you want to! As long as I still get my fruits, veggies, proteins in and still have some room then I am not afraid to have a treat. If I deprive myself totally, then I fail. But that's just me....

I struggle with this! I've gotten to the point where I can't eat "just a little bit" and be ok with it. I didn't use to have this problem, so I'm thinking (hoping) I can unlearn this behavior...because I really don't want to give up sweets!

I have to say, love the cat picture!
