I lost nearly 2 stone with mfp before christmas - then had some time off during christmas. i started again afterwards but a bit half heartedley. then i really opushed myself to get back into it! and i did. BUT..i have been having quite alot of health problems knee and fatigue which has stopped me exercising. i am still eating with in my calories but i seem to be gaining weight rather than losing it! its so frustrating!!!!!!
when i mention fatigue it is not just oh i feel tired and cant be bothered it is exhaustion from the moment i wake up. that feeling you get when you are mentally and physically exhausted is how ive felt for the past 2 months - plus i ma getting dizzy spells and headaches on top of this. i have had full blood work done and it is all fine now waiting to see a neuro consultant.
any way as i am not up to streuous exercise - i try and walk a bit each day - why is my weight going up?!
i came off birth control at the end of feb as we are trying for a 2nd baby but surley that should make it go down. also havent had a TOM yet but feels like i should be.
any advise greatly appreciated!!!

Don't have an solid ideas as to why this is happening but if I were able to see your diary, there may be some clues in your diet.0

If you are trying for a baby, could you already be pregnant?0

pregnancy test?0

Sounds to me like that 2nd baby might already be on the way. The first trimester of all my pregnancies I could hardly stay awake at all, ever. It was epic. Could that be possible?0

I think coming off the pills will give you headaches. Just like stopping any long term medication or food, your body gets used to it and then suffers when you stop.0

Haha, everyone has the same idea. Take that test, girl!0

I was thinking that as i was reading the OP. Even though you were on birth control it doesnt mean its 100% effective. My best friend got pregnant with all 3 of her children while on birth control.0 -
I gained a few lbs when I stopped taking the pill... I also got pregnant within two weeks of stopping it. :O0

Yup Yup Yup probably pregnant. My Siser in Law was off her BC for only 2 weeks when she became pregnant. I also agree with the person who said that could be the cause of your fatigue, when I first found out I was pregnant, I could fall asleep anywhere, any time of day. good luck to you and your family0

I see a baby picture on your profile. How old is he/she? That could be why you are so tired. I remember those days. . . . That part of parenting gets better! (I won't give you the bad news on the rest!! Enjoy the little ones while you can.) It is truly mentally and physcially exhausting to feel like every moment you are filling someone else's needs.
That being said, I'd pay particular attention to your thyroid results of your blood test. I understand that they can be interpreted in a very large range of ways, so keep asking questions from your doctor, and even seek a 2nd opinion.
Also, make sure you are being checked for auto-immune disease. Things like Lupus can sap your energy, especially if you are under stress. I deal with this, as I have mild Lupus.
The good news is that really, truly, exercising will make you have more energy. So if you get a go-ahead from your doctor, then MAKE yourself get up and move. It will help. Find something you love and do it, even if only a little bit.
I even find that if I am achy from the Lupus, it helps.
Also, could you already be pregnant??
All the best to you. Hang in there.0 -
The same exact thing happened to me. Turns out I was pregnant!!!!! I would check that first. If not it could just be some extra bloating and water if it is right before TOM!!! If you are just at a stand still, you will be able to push right through it, just be consistent!!!!0

Ok, now I'm totally invested in this thread. LOL! POAS! :bigsmile:0

i took a pregnancy test before i had my birth control implant removed as i thought the same as you all. it was negative and the headaches, dizziness and fatigue started about a month before that.
baby number 1 is 18 months old and while i am tired running around after him this is a new kind of tired - my hubby is getting quite worried!
all my blood work is all mid range normal.0 -
ok - done the test - negative....what now?!?! this is really getting me down - feeling like this and gaining weight! so bleugh!!!0

I agree with having the dr chec into your thyroid. My family has a history of thyroid issues, and they don't always show up on just run-of-the-mill testing. My mom also has Lupus, and has fatigue issues like you describe. Definitely ask about those things and/or seek a second opinion.0 -
Just a thought - are you getting enough to drink? Just being dehydrated can lead to headaches, fatigue and dizziness.0

It could be migraines that are causing the dizzyness and fatigue (I have the same problem). Maybe the birthcontrol was preventing the migraines. For me I had to find what was triggering the migraines to prevent all the other symptoms. Turns out aspertame (sweet n low or equal) was a big migraine trigger for me so I cut that out of my diet and now I only get about 2-3 migraines a year (as compared to every day).0
