Both my husband and my 6 year old son are trained to close the toilet when finished. As a side note - Toilet paper has to be put on the roll correctly - It always goes over the top in my house and not down from the back.0

Both men and women should put the seat AND lid down. It just looks better!
^^^^^^^ THIS
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^THIS !
You aesthetics in the bathroom?0 -
I would MUCH rather the man leave it up than leave it down and pee on the seat.
I agree! I had many fights with my fiancee about this when we first moved in so i compromised to put it up and i'll bring it down lol0 -
You close the lid when you flush because poop might fly out? Seriously...this has never happened in my house.0
-
I stand by my household rule. If I notice, its ok. But if I get up at 2AM and dont turn on the light because I dont want to interrupt your slumber, and I go pink eye first in the poop receptacle, you will be using a magazine and lotion for a while. Not SUPER long, because I am not gonna punish ME, but the next time for sure you will be *kitten* to a picture with a hand full of jergens.0

how about who ever cleans it gets to choose
hahahaha nice0 -
I have to say I have NEVER managed to fall down the pan, regardless of the position of the lid/darkness of the room/sleepiness, drunkenness or physical impairment! Do you have REALLY big bogs in the US? As far as seat position goes, couldn't care less, it's a matter of seconds to adjust it to my liking. As long as there isn't pee on it/the floor, now that REALLY ticks me off, whether it's at home or worse, in a public bog where it was left like that by another lady!!!GGGRRRRR:explode:0
-
I'm sorry, but are you seriously telling me that you dont see the lid up and fall into the toilet.....?
I always keep the lid down at my place (just always have) but if a woman ever complained to me that she fell into the toilet because of ME not putting the seat down....I'm sorry, I'm first off laughing at you and then taking you to the doctors to get your eyes and possibly head checked.0 -
men should just pee sitting down...Problem solved!0
-
We have 5 females and 3 men, women win. So both are always down. When my step son first moved back in with us, he left the seat up, and I grounded him from the bathroom until I had a chance to go buy new toothbrushes (isht particles on our toothbrushes, gross) lol. And one of the guys have to clean up under the bottom lid, that's a big hole, if you can't aim for the center, you can clean up your mess.0
-
We have dogs and children. Not only does the seat go down but so does the lid. Solves the problem.
We also close the lid BEFORE every flush! It helps contain all those particles from flying in the air and spreading germs!
And on your toothbrush! Gross. Everyone in my house is expected to put the lid down, flush, wash and turn off the light.0 -
A gentleman puts the seat down.0

Our seats have larger holes because we, statistically, have larger bums.0 -

Yes, I have. It was night, and very dark. I woke up to pee, bathroom is connected to the bedroom so I didnt turn the light on, wasnt wearing my contacts or glasses, went to sit, fell in, got up, cleaned my *kitten*, went back to bed and turned him down the next morning.0 -

From a dude - ^^^^ this, EXACTLY! There's a lid for a reason.
I agree! Plus i make it a point to check it first anyways, cuz he is good but not perfect like me lol.:drinker:0 -
I had to put the seat down last night! But hey, I was at his house. Doesn't bother me a bit. Everyone should check before they sit their *kitten* down. You shouldn't just be checking if it's up or down, you should be checking if it's clean!!0

If you do this, you also lose valuable plunger time if it clogs.0 -
LOL0

It should be down, with the lid closed on all occasions by both sexes. Keeps a decent amount of germs contain inside. It's lid should actually be closed BEFORE flushing, as the lid catches germs (not all, but a lot) when flushing :-)0

Is there some kind of handbook with these gentleman rules?0 -

I never understood why this has always been such a issue? If its' up and you need it down pull it down and vice versa!
This!!!!!!
How can you sit down and not realize that the lid is up? Seems like if it happened, it would only take one time to figure it out.

Yeah, because the germs are so big they can't float out between the cracks, right? Is your toilet vacuum sealed, or are your germs the size of blackbirds???0 -

I live alone and don't have the seat up/seat down issue but I keep the lid down.0 -
Honestly we leave it up only to hear you fall in early in the morning. Splash down or I'm stuck can you help me out. I say, yeah after I stop laughing.0
-
I'm honestly more worried about making sure the toilet is clean.. It's just gross if there is pee all over the place because of inaccuracy of aiming. If the seat was put back down after a guy has used the restroom then great! If it wasn't, I wouldn't stress over it either.0

cant men learn to pee with the toilet seat down?? it would solve everything
ORR then need to just stop making seats flip up. It would force the men to pee with it down
