    A. Don't eat fruit alone, eat them with nuts/cheese whatever
    That totally negates the glycemic index. I also believe the glycemic index isn't relevant to non-diabetics.
    B. I seriously hope one wouldn't believe that eating cookies is better than eating fruits and veg.

    Remember, calories are calories no matter where they come from (good calories, bad calories, they are ALL calories). If you eat it (where ever that sugar, fat, protein comes from) you have to burn it off.
