We also get a kick out of twisting guys words so they pay us more compliments.
Like the time stamp compliment.

So true! I will feign offense just to mess with a guy... but it's usually pretty obvious that's what I'm doing (I think).

Maybe it's because I'm a boring old married person, but... no, even as a fascinating young single person, I wasn't comfortable with specific compliments on my body or body parts. "You look great," is enough, unless you're in an intimate relationship with someone, and then you can get more detailed. Because by then you should know her well enough to know her own personal threshold for certain words and degrees of filthiness.

I've never been offended by "you look great tonight" or any variation. I usually get that one when I've done my hair and makeup and am dressed up and I realize I do look better than my sweats, scrunchie and no makeup usual evenings.

But don't tell me I look thick. If that makes me high maintenance, so be it.

I also wouldn't be offended by being told I look skinny. I want to look skinny.

Ladies, I say take the compliments how you can take i! Because there comes a point in your life, where you never get them. I think that it would be awkward for one of the dad's at my kids' ball game to say that I look good or I look like I have been working out (at least I hope that is why I never get compliments from men)

Now my sweet husband told me that my butt was looking flatter. At first, I was like CRAP! But, then I realized that he meant it as a compliment...that I was look thinner, but not that my butt looked flat. :)

I find the same thing with men!!!

I once complimented my boyfriend (ex) and said,"awwwww it's so cute!! So small". He was really angry. It was not as though I had shrunk his manhood but he was happier thinking he was adequate. I just honestly thought it was an adorable thing.

    I find men don't like:

"Wow, great body but hairline a bit receding, have you thought of Rogain?"

    "Great body, a bit disproportionate"

Some random guy snuck up on me (seriously, he came out of nowhere when my back was turned) in the grocery store about a year ago and told me I have a very pretty shape.

Thick to me means not very intelligent. I have never heard it used to describe a body. It's not a word I would ever want to hear about myself in any capacity.

Interesting thought for me it wouldnt matter if you used numbers or words....I don't offened easily. Most guys I date describe me as thick and it doesn't bother me at all for I am comfortable with myself.

Most of the words you'd like to hear describing your penis shouldn't be used to describe her body.

I just shot tea out of my nose all over my laptop. At work. Thanks. :-)

Since for some reason women get overly offended even when you try and compliment them we need a new method of compliment them.

you say: YOU HAVE A GREAT BODY, its a bit thicker
what they here: you have a great body, ITS THICKER!
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
    Very common

also offensive words: thick, thicker, meaty, bigger, muscular.
not so offensive: skinny , twiggy

so heres a thought unless has some better ideas= DESCRIBE BODY TYPES WITH NUMBERS

" yeah, i like my women at about a 20%"

    ehhh??? ehhh??? no?

just tired of offended women when im trying to give a compliment

This is the difference between men & women. Thick is not a good term, and bigger is defiantly in insult, these are words that men like to hear, not women.

ps, if your offending them, it's obvious that it's not a complement.

Try telling a woman she's beautiful, of has gorgeous eyes, or nice hair.

And unless she's already your girl avoid saying she has a great body (any respectable woman will think that's all you're interested in)

Are you giving these compliments to your girlfriend, your cousin, women you meet in a club, or just random women passing you on the street? Context could help a lot with this problem...

Things I would love to hear about my body:
    Fit
    Sexy
    Awesome
    Hot
    Feminine

    Add:
    Amazing
    Beautiful

Thing I hate to hear added: "for your age"

I don't think anyone would dare say "for your age"! You have an Amazing body. Your abs are awesome! (Anyway I'm not sure I belive your age  )

    :flowerforyou:

Ah, but they do say it and I tell them that my age has nothing to do with it. I had one young guy (maybe early 30s?) try to pick me up on the skytrain home one day. I told him I was likely old enough to be his mother. His first reaction was "No f*cking way!". His second reaction was "You look really hot for your age!". His third reaction was to shake his head and mutter to himself (but loud enough that I heard him) "Old as *kitten*" as he was getting off the train. Now that hurt...:noway:

But yes, that is my real age, so thank you!

It is next to impossible to compliment a woman without her being offended in some way. Seriously.

If a guy said to me "you have a nice body, it's a bit thicker" I translate that to "you have a nice body, and I'm into fat chicks."

Just the way I interpret it, personally!

But if a guy says "You have a great body" then I can at least take that as I really do have a great body, without adding any extra context...although if it's a guy I don't know I'm likely to think he's a creep hahaha

    Sorry, it's a lose-lose man!

Just tell a woman she's beautiful, and leave it at that!

The other added one in there is "for having a baby." If I'm told I look great, for having a baby, I am NOT complimented, I'm basically told "you're never gonna be as hot as a chick who's never gotten pregnant, but you're alright." DON'T ADD THAT SHIZ IN THERE, GUYS!
