I think the behavior you speak of is typical human nature. That said, keep you hand out of my plate!

LOL I do this, too. Especially with my water.

I live in a house with four other adults, my parents and brothers, and my brothers are horribly disrespectful about food. They take it and eat it in one sitting until it's gone. I write my name in Sharpie on everything, hide it under things in the drawers of the fridge, bring non-perishable things into my room and put them on my bookshelves, get angry when people eat things that someone bought for everyone if I like them, and have considered getting a minifridge for my room until I move out. If people eat my healthy food, then I have nothing to eat but the awful things they buy.

I'm exactly the same way...My fiance is always takes bites of my food or drinks like half my bottle of water & it literally pisses me off. I DON'T WANNA SHARE! Just really makes me anxious because it throws my calories off & I'm like waaah.

I am the same way! I take care to weigh and measure everything that goes on my plate so I feel like I really need to be eating what Ive got. I also really hate when other people want to eat the "special" food I buy myself. My healthier snacks and all the fruit and veggies arent cheap. They can eat all the chips and soda and cookies they still buy and leave my snack bars alone! lol

    My cat is like this.
  • I do it, too! :) I don't think it's mean we just have our share and can help them, if they would like, to get their share! :)

I'm really possessive over the food in my fridge... I do a weekly shop and I'm very careful to make sure I buy just the right amount of food as I hate wastage but dont want to go hungry, my brother took a yoghurt out of my fridge the other week and I went mad because it was my "Thursday" yoghurt! I get really angry if somebody messes with my food or takes something!

Yesterday my boyfriend wanted some of my ham for his sandwich and I was like... no... this is my ham, you have your own ham, use that! I get the same ham every weekand theres just enough for 5 days worth of sandwiches in it.

... OK fine, yes I am a bit crazy...

LOL this is so me! Especially at the start of cal counting, with my 2yo taking half my food all the time, I've gotten better now that I'm closer to my goal though!

I've always been super possessive of food, and it never had anything to do with the diet. It's on my plate, yo!

^^^totally this. No rational reason for it but I have always had MY food and do NOT like sharing. Ive gotten much better about it but it's still an internal struggle.

Never had a problem with this. I have always been kind of lackadaisical about food...if someone needs it or wants it more than me they are welcome to it. Now here with my guy there are no issues at all...he doesn't eat fruits, vegies, or stuff that he considers "health food". The problem I have is that I like his "junk" food too!

I have friends ask all the time and I'm more than willing to share a little here and there. I just look at it as basically cutting off a few calories. The only time I'm hesitant is if it's one of the few times I allow myself a nice snack. I mean who knows when I'll allow myself another scoop of ice cream so I gotta be greedy with that lol

I'm not sure what your intake is, but I find that I get that way when I am eating far too little. It seems like you're getting into the realm of disordered thinking and I'd be careful. If you can, try to be a little less rigid. You can have a range that you're comfortable with. Calories in/Calories out isn't absolutely precise in terms of your body's metabolism.

This. :p Chilllax, dude.... Getting a little intense there with the water as well. :D

ETA: Or wait... You just want it because it's delicious? Cause that seems totally normal to me!

Hey now... thats where you're wrong. It doesn't matter what the variances are or how my body might not accurately use it...

I measure EVERY macro that goes in so I have that information. Not so somebody can screw it up! I measure every gram of food so I can be as sure as possible as to what goes into my body. This isn't an eating disorder, I look at it like a scientific study! I don't care how my metabolism works... I care about how my body reacts to my macros and if I'm not as accurate as possible how can I know how my body responds?

Well, if I ever even feel like this, I know that I would be very disapointed in myself. I came from a culture where its a norm to have a big plate of food and 3-4 people eating from the same dish. And it is considered highly rude to NOT to offer to share your food

    Yes I'm like this! haha

Most of the time it's when I'm eating crisps/sweets (from a large bag) I'll take what I want, measure it out into a bowl, and then my bf will come along, "ooh that looks nice" like he wants to grab some straight from my bowl! I'm like "oh no you don't, if you want some, get some out the bag yourself, I've measured this out!"
He knows this now so I don't usually have to say it haha

I've learnt to be a little more relaxed on certain occaisions though as you can't always be like this. If I have a small bag of crisps or something similar while I'm out, I'll offer some to a friend I'm with, like I would've before coming to MFP, and usually just log it all, or estimate if they took a fair bit.
I find it hard to tell others (apart from my bf) that I weigh / measure food as I worry they'll think it's weird (they probably would!)

Yes this is me!! I weigh out my fruit and my nuts so if I have a portion of something I want it all, it drives me mad when hubby takes something, especially if it's a frozen grape haha!!

Also, I always have a banana before my work outs, it nearly caused a divorce in my house when I got home and was all fired up to go for a run and discovered hubby had eaten my pre-workout banana and left me with none - he doesn't even like bananas, grrrr!!! Lol!!

I am, because at one point in my life I lived off of popcorn. and a slice of lunch meat a day for about a year. so Now I am a food hoarder. I may not eat the food but I have it just in case.I also have to hide some of my food from my husband as he will eat it all plus what I bought for him.
