I'd love some more lady lifters as friends! all please feel free to add me!!0 -
I'm in the middle of Stage 3 of NROLFW; it's my first go-round with heavy weights. Learning proper form, learning my limits & when to push them, loving all of it. I also do a little cardio, a little yoga, and I'm a former P90X-er.
Please feel free to add me, OP or any other posters here..... :flowerforyou:0 -
Me I love lifting heavy stuff!0

I do cardio and strength training but I am still a newbie at strength training and could use friends that have experience in the strength training area. I want to be fit and actually have muscle tone. Any help and advice would be welcome!0

Me!!! I try to mix cardio and weights. I'm a totally newbie to weight training though, so I still post a million questions about it!0

For those of you doing the 5X5 - how are you liking it so far? Have heard great things about it and may definitely consider trying that out!
I've been doing it for 3.5 weeks now. REALLY like it. My squats were stuck at 95lbs for like 2 months. Now they are up to 115lbs.
I personally love it - I'm also in the middle of my third week (next workout is workout 12 and I just did 115 too, tomorrow is 120 - dang rae, why aren't we friends yet). I don't think its a good program for someone who is not focused on lifting though, I can't imagine trying to do any other kind of high intensity workouts and lift these amounts. In the beginning I was still running sometimes but now I feel like I can't expend ANY serious muscle power outside of the lifting because I don't want to "waste" it. I still do some cardio but its light easy non-strenuous cardio.0 -
I strength train 4 times a week, 2 of the days being cardio and strength training. After I lose about 15 pounds from that I plan on increasing my weight days to 5 days a week0

I can't claim to weight train YET, but I begin a weight training class on Tuesday. I am really excited to finally figure out how to do this. I'll continue weight training once school is finished by finally getting a gym membership!
I'm about 50% through NROWLFW but I'll have someone to guide me as I'm doing workouts so it should go well.0 -
Hey I try to weight train about 3 days a week. I really like the difference it's made in my body.0

I have been lifting since September 2011-love it! Did NROLFW, now I'm doing my own thing.0

Right now i'm working on more fat loss but still incorperating strength training but once i get lower on the scale I'm gonna be doing some hardcore strength training I wanna look strong, lean, and toned
Add me if you want, i could use the push, and i'll return the favour
Start training now, it helps! I swear! My body is firming as I go, and while my loss is slow, it's steady and I get a lot of comments on how much smaller I'm getting.0 -

I used to lift primarily...even though it goes against all the old "rules" about "how to lose weight" I was brought up with. It made me feel powerful and sexy no matter what the scale said. I got away from it for a while and just starting incorporating ST here and there in my cardio (love circuit training!) while I tried to train for a race...and found myself on this huge plateau with a bunch of injuries from running and Zumba and the like. Just decided I'm going back to lifting, especially while my foot heals up (PF), and I'm restarting JE's LiveFit program next Monday (4 weeks of blissful no-cardio-lifting-only based workouts!!). I'm ready to feel strong and sexy again, so COUNT ME IN! (And I'm going to laugh in the face of all the people in my life who told me cardio is the key if this breaks my never-ending plateau!)0

Currently I'm doing 3 days a week cycling and 3 strength training. My boyfriend bought a power rack for the basement, so I finally started lifting heavy a month ago doing a full body routine 3 days a week. Now, I'm in my second week of Starting Strength. I never thought I'd like lifting so much -I was afraid that I would get too bulky (yes, I was that girl...). I know better now.0

I lift 3 days a week... would love some new friends,..0

I love lifting heavy things!
I am currently doing NROL for Abs. It's an interesting workout program because it involves strength with a core focus, so sometimes I wonder if I look really odd with my lifts. haha. But it's a great program and definitely hard. My core has never felt so strong. I do that 3 days a week and then some kickboxing, aerial acrobatics (new to that), rock climbing, boot camp, etc for cardio. I like to keep up some cardio to allow me to do obstacle runs as those are so much fun.0 -
I've been working with a personal trainer 3-4 days per week since November. I try to get a good 10-miler in once or twice a week & just got back on my bike to get ready for a Century ride in May.0
