I  vanilla almond milk. I would say that along with ice in a blender should work for you, especially if you don't want to add in a bunch of extra calories.

I'm new to protein powders as I was always scared they would be disgusting. I bought the Dessert label protein (i don't know the actual brand, but it comes in a red container. its the same brand of noxplode) Anyway, i got the chocolate coconut candy bar flavor and just blended it with water and its pretty good! It tastes pretty much like an almond joy.

Mixed with some milk and fresh fruit into a smoothie. I also mix it with plain greek yogurt and a little bit of sugar with a chopped banana or berries.

I'm a big fan of the Dymatize hydrolyzed whey protein powders. They are very tasty and mix well with the yogurt or into a smoothie.

we buy body fortress premium whey isolate in vanilla cream and it is DELICIOUS with just milk. I haven't tried with water yet. It tastes like a vanilla milk shake. I also add it to oatmeal and coffee, but beware heat seems to change the texture so its best to mix with some water or milk and then add to oatmeal or coffee :P

Hey guys! I'm about to start insanity (tomorrow) and I just bought some protein powder to help me with it. I got vanilla and cookies n cream. I tried it last night with milk and ice (all i had to use in it) and it tasted gross! I need recipes! What do you put in your protein shakes or smoothies? What foods do you put protein powder in!? Help me out guys!

If you're using Isopure No Carb, go for strawberry! I tried Cookies N Cream my first time and I couldn't down more than a few sips. It was awful. I exchanged it for the strawberry flavor, which is actually okay tasting.

Also, I've found this recipe for Meal Replacement Bars using protein powder. They are wonderful! http://www.reddit.com/r/keto/comments/pnzt3/as_promised_homemade_meal_replacement_bars/c3qvkd2
  • I use protein powder, ice, water and a spoon of peanut butter. Put it in a blender and it tastes amazing. Some folks put in other fruits to make it taste better.

Good luck with insanity. I've done it three times now. I actually gained a lot of muscle in my legs and glutes. Good luck!!!

I mix the suggested amount of chocolate powder (Dymatize Elite Gourmet) with half the suggested amount of water and think of it as a shot.

I get the one from Wallis world as well.... tried several so far.... 2 cups water, 2 scoops powder, shake drink...... not a lot more to say..... I am one of these people that still think medicine and dietary supplements are not to be enjoyed.....

Otherwise, I mix 1 scoop with 1 tap baking powder, 1 packet of stivia and 1 tbsp olive oil, directly in a mug..... then microwave to get a nice muffin.... very good with coffee by the way

One thing I found when first using protein shakes was that they pretty much all taste horrible unless the liquid they are mixed with (in my case water) is COLD. I have a couple of shaker bottles that I mix up and throw in the fridge overnight and that REALLY improve the taste tremendously.
