Hey ladies,

Has anyone ever ordered from Dorothy Perkins?

http://us.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/TopCategoriesDisplay?storeId=13065&catalogId=34072

I'm asking because I really want to order this dress

http://us.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=34072&storeId=13065&productId=4682002&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=339185&parent_categoryId=339496&pageSize=20&refinements=Size{1}~[14]&noOfRefinements=1

but there is only a 4 and a 14 left...and I'm a comfortable...little loose 16. Are their clothes true to size?

I usually just look at reviews but they don't have that option on the US site. Thanks in advance.

Also...very cute dress. What is the return policy? I would check that out before buying in case it doesn't fit.

Yes they are true to size, I have order a size 16 which is lovely on, so I would suggest getting your actual size, there 16 trousers and 14 tops were perfect also, just seen that this is USA site lol! I buy from the UK and the sizes are true!

I've brought quite a lot from Dotty P's in the past, I am in fact sat here in a pair of their jeans right now

I think their sizes are pretty good, I've never found them to be small anyway :)

There is also a size guide that you can look at to check your inches against how the dress is manufactured.

Ive brought a few pairs of jeans from Doroty Perkins, ans i find that they are generous with there sizes

Maybe you should buy the dresss, and then it may motivate you to work harder?! Soo you know it will fit! Thats what I do! Ive brought a few items of clothing, a size smalller than what i fit into now, and its motivating me to get up off the sofa and move my butt!

I find their sizes to be nice and kind  I bought a 14 in a dress at christmas and it fitted quite well, enough for me to buy it but know that in a few pounds it would look better. At the time stuff i bought from other shops was a 16.

Edited to say <----that is the dress i bought!

That doesn't make it go to the top to get responses. "Bumping" something puts it on your profile's "Recent Forum Posts" so you can find later without having to search through all of the forums.

I have quite a few things from them, mainly dresses and tops. I love their stuff and have always had good experiences with their clothes and service, although I've only ordered here in the UK or bought from their UK stores. I say buy it!

er yes it does - as WELL as putting it on your profile

BUMP = bring up my post
any reply to a thread takes it nearer the top of the forum - if noone has replied to a thread for hours, it drowns in other more recent threads, so bumping is a way of hoping it gets seen again
  • Doens't look like there's a ton of room for the tata/s though!

pretty sure it bumps it to the top too so people see it again and you get more chance to get more responses

    YUP!! that
  • It does make it go to the top. Just saying.

Also, I go to DP's a lot and I have always found their sizing to be accurate. I live in the UK though so I'm not sure how accurate there conversions to US sizes is.

I usually have to buy dresses a bit bigger because of the boobage area. Best bet is buy it and return if it doesn't fit.

Great - now that you've introduced me to this Dorothy Perkins website, I may end up spending all available cash on dresses I will never wear.

Argh!!! They are so effing cute!!!!!!

I feel like people who think "bump" only adds it to your profile have never used a message board before this one.

Ha! Very true. I am blessed in the bewb and booty area. That's why I'm scared but I'm going to get it! It's too cute to pass up.
  • If it doesn't fit now, it will with some work!!
I am blessed in those areas as well, hence why I pick up on those things, it's a mixed blessing really

Dorothy Perkins are reputable, like them a lot. But bear in mind their sizes are UK sizes. They can be true depending on what you're buying, I find they're usually roomy rather than snug.

I keep hearing bad things about shipping to the US. That is what scares me, but they have some GREAT items there. I would LOVE to shop there more. Ugh.

Love Dorothy Perkins! The UK sizes are pretty accurate but I shop the petite section so don't know about regular sizes.

I find that generally DP is generally true to size - but if you have big norks I would go up a size. They have some lovely dresses in stock at the moment. I bought some stuff just a few days ago.

Re postage costs. I am in Australia and find the postage is cheaper than getting something shipped from the US.

i just placed an order with them last week, and i've been waiting for my order to show up any day now. instead, i got an email saying i owed them $52 in customs and duties fees. they didn't give me an option to cancel my order!!!!! and who knows how long it will take to get here. i don't know about you, but $52 is a LOT of money for me, and was 1/2 the cost of my order.
