I also want to do strength training at home! But don't wanna spend the cash on the workout programs haha... anyone do it on their own using hand weights and body weight?
Google body rock tv the only thing you need is an interval timer and there is an app for that.

I train 3x a week. The only time I've skipped workouts is when I was on holidays. And sometimes I go to the gym on holidays also :p I love it!

Are you talking about Stronglifts 5x5? I dumped Jamie Eason's Live Fit Trainer and I'm going to start stronglifts this week!

    Good choice :)

I started with stronglifts & then spent the majority of my time doing the PTC Beginner's program which is based off the same exercises basically but different rep ranges.

    Squat 3 x 10
    Bench press 3 x 8
    Bent row 3 x 8
    Military press 3 x 8
    SLDL 3 x 8
    BB curl 3 x 8 (except I did chinups/pullups)

Do this 3 times a week. Progressively add weight.

I did this until I could squat 130kg, bench 108kg, SOHP 65kg & Deadlift 170kg. I then moved to a more specialised program that focusses on one main compound exercise per day as I couldn't continue to make progress with the full body workout 3x a week anymore.
