Best Orange EVER!!
Seriously where have these cara cara oranges been all my life and why did I just discover them now?!?
I used to not like oranges all that much (except clemenines obviously), but now I'm so obsessed with these cara cara oranges I'm giving them away to friends and coworkers.
What other gems are lurking in the produce section that I'm blissfully unaware of?

Honeycrisp apples! I've never been that fond of apples (I like hard apples like Granny Smith, but I want them sweeter)
They're expensive & only come out in the winter, but they're SO GOOD!0 -

Other produce gems - Tangelos (a cross between a tangerine and pomello or grapefruit), Pluots, Blood Oranges, Kiwis and blackberries.0

I've enjoyed roasted beets at restaurants, but I've never attempted myself... how do you prepare them??0 -
Ripe mangoes (they should be a bit squishy to the touch), those are amazing.0

Oooh yes, after I tried pluots for the first time I was raving about it so anybody who would pretend to listen like I'd just found gold. Pluot season is coming up, exciting!0 -
I go weak for white Nectarines! (non fuzzy peaches)0

Awesome, but they will turn your hands red
Ever had a pomegranate? they will do that as well, they are great but almost not worth the effort of eating all of the seeds.0 -

I love Asian Pears!! My friend's Japanese grandma always had them at her house...so good when they're just ripe.0 -
I'm LOVING this thread!
Would people mind putting what country they're in too? I'd love to know whether I had a fighting chance of ever finding some of these things that I've never heard of before!
Perhaps more common:
Chinese Lettuce - Yummy crunch!

I recently developed a taste for plain ol' navel oranges. I seriously do a little jig once that bad boy is peeled and ready to be sectioned and popped in my mouth. Ridiculous, I know. LOL
I also like manzanos or "red bananas".
Oh my! Not as sweet as a yellow 'nana but has a berry-like flavor. Mmm!0 -

I am in lust with pickled beets, but have never tried roasted. Is there a special way to do this?0 -
I have started freezing grapes - seedless red, black or green. They are a GREAT quick snack. I am not a fan of normal temp grapes, but frozen, they are great!0

I had dragon fruit in Germany. Pink and yellow. Yellow was much sweeter. Only found it once here in Virginia. Very hard to find and about $7 pound here.0
