Agreed! My weight has gone up but I feel better, have more energy for workouts, don't want to binge eat all the time, etc. Overall I am happier. I think this week will mark 3-4 weeks of eating at an increased # of cals. I'm going to get on the scale, measure BF%, and take measurements and pics again. It's not all about the scale anymore!!!

Wonderful comments thanks so much and congrats on you ALL who are refusing to let/allow the dreaded compulsion and such yuck to rule or reign or even have a tiny place in your way.

My previous amount was 1200 I raised it to 1456.

My sodium is always way under my daily allowance. I think it has to do with eating more fruits and veggies and seeds and grains than processed/prepared meals. Prehaps also shunning dairy, pre-made juices and soda and coffee and sugary things may have something to do with lower sodium too, I'm not sure. I tend to be going over my daily allowance of fiber, protein and iron.

Today I had Chinese food for dinner, which is renown for being overloaded in sodium, but I still underate my allowance of sodium today. 2500 allowance I had over 1,100 ledt over. Again, I think the sodium thing has to do with what we are eating,

I also appreciate the posts saying you gain far more than 1 pound during this increase of calories too. Thanks again everyone!

1.2 pounds -- that's nothing. I went up 4 pounds and promptly lost those pounds and more a month later. You have a great attitude -- don't sweat the small stuff :-)

Hmmmmm...I haven't heard that term in years--Don't Sweat the Small Stuff. Thanks for posting. I read a book by that title years ago and it was fabulous. You post has inspired me to dig it out and read it again. :flowerforyou:

Found this and wanted to post it on here to re-read later when (NOT IF...BUT WHEN) i'm tempted to be discouraged, complain or worse:

    Don't Quit

When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
and forget all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
If you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit!

    LOVE your attidtude!!

I upped my calories this week too and I refuse to step foot on the scale until a month from now. I've also heard it takes about a month for your body to adjust. Keep pressing on! It's more than just about a number on the scale. It's about being healthy and feeling great!

I went up 3 lbs yesterday after bumping up my calories from 2150-2350. My light-headedness is gone, I don't have cravings and I have a lot more energy. I even ran 3/4 of a mile yesterday. More calories good!

Awesome attitude. I upped my calories last week and gained a lb back the second day. I freaked out a liitle but then told my hubby to hide the scale from me. I'm going give this eating more cals a real go and don't want the scale to scare me back to 1200. We can do this!!!

Totally stuffed my scale onto the high shelf of my bedroom closet. It's been staring at me. Longingly. Begging for me to step on. And when I do, I find that my attitude changes. Despite the fact that I've been eating VERY well and exercising more regularly than ever.

GO EFF YOURSELF, SCALE! lol *flex*
