it was impressive how hard they came down.

Okay, so the group solution is a good solution except for recruitment. Newer members have really no way of finding these groups and the group search function is woefully inadequate.

The first rule of NSFW group is you don't talk about NSFW group.

Thought that locked thread was quite amusing but I wish _Snw_ had chosen a different analogy. The UK is famous for warm beer, and round here men drink pints of the stuff

Basically — why can't there at least be an uncensored forum? Like, one NSFW forum where language doesn't get censored and any topic of discussion is permitted? People can stay away from it at work, and we're all 18+ here, so it shouldn't be an issue.
The site owners have made the choice not to do so. There are plenty of other uncensored forums out there.

Clever, subtle innuendo is much funner anyway, in my opinion.

It's much more fun to do it where you will get a rise out of people.

    This is exactly right.

A similar situation arose on another forum I was on where they set up an adult sub forum. It was great for a couple of weeks before everyone got bored witless.

Part of the thrill, no scratch that, most of the thrill is in showing off, in shocking, in being prurient where you know there will be disapproval.

Then, ironically, the exhibitionists indulge in the very behaviour they are seeking to reject in others: moral outrage although it is at being censored rather than shocked.

    Life. So cruel.
Yep. When the groups here started, everyone ran to create "naughty" groups. They became boring quite quickly.

I created an off-site uncensored MFP forum a while back. It was as successful as a midget trying to look down on you.

The groups are still subject to the Community Guidelines ( http://www.myfitnesspal.com/welcome/guidelines ).
    Group-Specific Guidelines

    21. Groups Can Establish Additional Group-Specific Guidelines

Group Administrators may establish additional guidelines for their Groups as long as they do not interfere with MyFitnessPal’s sitewide guidelines. Members of the group must adhere to these group-specific rules.

    22. Group Moderators Must Uphold Site-wide Guidelines

All group moderators are required to uphold the MyFitnessPal site-wide guidelines to the best of their abilities. Failure to do so will result in the loss of their moderator privileges and possibly the shutdown of the group.

    23. Do Not Troll or Harass Groups

There will be groups with opinions that you do not agree with. Do not use groups as a way to harass or insult others.

    24. No Mass Invites or Invite Spamming

While we certainly encourage group founders to invite members to join their groups, excessively spamming invites is not permitted and will result in the deletion of the group. Please invite members to your group in moderation.

    25. Groups That Allow Mature Content Must Be Marked Mature

If your group decides that it will allow mature content, it must be flagged as a mature group. Failure to do so could result in the deletion of the group. Please note that even groups marked as mature must still adhere to our site-wide guidelines.

Yeah.... There really needs to be a "uncensored" group where adults can act like one
    There's a few, actually!

And how do you propose that they verify age? Porn sites ask you to use a credit card to verify age, and prepaid debit cards won't work. Would you be okay with MFP requiring a credit card to participate? Because I wouldn't.

Let me reiterate......... MFP Police, just let some private groups have fun chatting without the censorship... Really, lighten up with your "guidelines" and "guideline links" so *yawn*
