The year was 1985, and somehow this Illinois 14-yr-old convinced his parents to let him see Loverboy and Dokken while we were vacationing in Florida. To this day, I'm still shocked (SHOCKED!) that my anal-retentive over-protective parents let me go unsupervised!0

I sold cokes and hot dogs at the University of Colorado's fieldhouse during football games when I was in 7-9th grade. The Who performed when I was in 7th and my mother wouldn't let me go...she let me work the Simon & Garfunkel concert the following year when I was 13 or 14. So...yeah. Simon & Garfunkel. At the time I thought they were dorky cause it was "my parents' music." Now I feel fortunate to have seen it.
My first actual ROCK concert was in 1985 when I was in 10th grade...Bon Jovi and Ratt.0 -

My parents took me and my brother to see Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (1978) at the Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh. Then saw the Little River Band and the Eagles in 1979 at the Civic Arena (Pittsburgh) ... front row seats that my brother won from a radio station. I was 14/15.0
