3000 calories you should probably be exercising like a beast!!
Since your diary is open... Why are you eating 3000 calories but still getting so little protein?

to be honest I am more concentrating on the numbers than what makes them up at the moment. I have only just started upping my calories and am trying to find the best way to do it.

Look at my past weeks and you will see that I was seriously under-eating.

Yea, what are you trying to achieve? Are you bulking in the gym?

Well it sure matters what you eat and why would you want to eat so much. Even if try to bulk you would want more protein not just any extra calories.

Need more info to be able to help......

No.. just trim down a bit and firm up what's left.

I don't have a huge amount to lose. Tonight I played 3 hours of tennis and previously didn't ever bother eating my calories back, so retained a fair bit of fat around my waist. I do strength training a few times a week at circuit training and am just trying to change things in a slow and steady way.

Mental note to self.. add more protein.

Yea, I would suggest you include at least 30 % of your diet as protein and make sure to lift heavy if eating that much. Nothing wrong with eating that much, but you need to eat the right stuff and also do the exercise for that right stuff to be send somewhere useful.

Don't expect overnight results - you might even see a gain for a couple of weeks until you level out. But that doesn't sound unreasonable if you are working out a lot and doing strength training. My hubby is set somewhere around 2800/day right now, doing two lifting workouts and three military PT classes each week.

Even though I ate that much it was still under my goal set by MFP. I burned 964 calories playing tennis.

    Am I missing something?

Maybe you could share what your settings are, and how you got to the numbers you're using?

Seems fine to me, just add more protein.

Thanks for all the help by the way :) Grateful for any input

My BMR is 1800, and my TDEE is approx 2700.

I posted a 60 day report update a few days ago which explains all about my time on here so far. Basically I was under-eating without really realising it. Loads of exercise and cutting down on calories thinking that it was the best way to achieve my goals.

All of my research on here to date tells me that this is incorrect and that I was seriously on the wrong track.

I could stand to lose a few lbs but actually if my weight stayed the same and I just redistributed it a bit then I wouldnt be too unhappy. I am more concerned about being healthy now
