Well ladies, Week 4!!! And I am back down to even so let's see what I can do in the second half here. Sorry I haven't been on here much, I've been really sick the last week with really bad allergies that manifested in a high fever (yeah i don't know how that happened either) but I'm starting to feel better. I just need to get my workouts figured out because I had been doing stuff outside but until the grass pollen count gets lower, thats not going to be too easy!! I found a great yoga workout I want to try in conjunction with some sort of cardio. Anyone have a dance DVD that they really like? Tamm?? I know you are the DVD queen!!!! :wink: :bigsmile: I always see those Core Rhythm DVD commercials on TV and I wonder if they are any good.

Anyway, need to get ready for work, good luck everyone!!!! :heart:

    Well, I gained a pound last week, but I'm happy it was ONLY a pound! I gave myself such a small 6 week goal, that I feel confident I'll still be able to make it. Especially now that the pool is open in our neighborhood!

    hello out there....

    no weigh in for me this week. i think i will begin again at the next challenge. just too much going on in my little part of the world lately. love my new house. now to make it a home. throwing lots of stuff out. this place is over 2000 sq ft. landlord said it was just under. suits me just fine. i know the weigh is staying the same. done with the grad whats easy part. boy lots of soduim in that stuff. now back to fixin regular dinners. DH is happy about that. he can't fit into any of his pants.

    off to fix some lunch and back to HOME making...:wink:

    So... I've been busy... busy doing nothing! I've been addicted to an online game site this past week. I'll try to be better about doing other things this week :laugh: . No complaints, the weight is coming off, slow but sure again.

    Very cute hair AmyLou. I am never sure about cutting my hair shorter but once I do it I am always happy with it! You look BEAUTIFUL!

    Wow. it is really dead on this thread. People seemed to be going super strong....now its a ghost town!

    I am not weighing in for the rest of the challenge. Went to the doc and hopefully came to some good conclusions that lead to recovery this time. I am off my iron supplement and letting the stomach heal. Next step is an iron transfusion and to continue my acid reflux meds. They cause severe water retention so I have a diuretic and potassium. We'll see how this all works out! Hopefully the scale makes a drastic down turn to make up for its drastic upturn from the last 2 weeks...

    I didn't want to weigh in but I did. 166.5lbs.
    Pretty soon I'll be back in the 170s.
    I was in the upper 150s.... at the end of May.

    Living at my parent's home, frankly, is hell. I've returned to all those horrible eating habits I grew up with. I eat enough for 2. Two grown men. Construction workers, at that. Sweets and snacks and terrible foods.

    My only refuge outside of the house is Panera, where I can go study. But there I get a coffee and several refills, which means easily 150 cals in each coffee. Yeah, multiply that one out. :ohwell: I guess I could look into the local library but I dislike libraries greatly.

    I am going to join the gym today. I can't see how I have any choice.

    Depression sucks. :indifferent:

    Lauryn you make me laugh. This morning my daughter gave Tony and I 30 day notice that she is moving out. Her BF has finally talked her into moving in with him. I am so sad.:sad: :sad: :sad: I know she is 27 yrs old and its not the frist time she has moved away. But Mom always loves having her girl close by. I have to laugh though cuz she claims that she has gained weight too since she moved home. She says theres something about Moms cooking. I told her she can't leave cuz I'll be lonely with out her. Even though she is never home anyway. But I do get to see her in the mornings when she comes home to get ready for work. So I guess what I am saying is When you don't want to be at home with your parents anymore you can come move in here. LOL I am sure you would be a wonderful daughter.

    I'm doing better today. I'm focusing hour by hour here ladies.
    So far, I've eaten 1005 calories (in reasonable foods, 2 meals and a protein snack).
    I have 742 cals still available (347 cals from working out). I should be able to eat dinner for that amount.
    I've already had all my required water for the day, half of it being consumed at the gym.

    I bit the bullet and joined the gym.
    $25 joining fee, $25 for a 6 month contract. It hurt to pay that out all at one (prepaid... that was the catch) but it's good to know I have a gym for the next 6 months, and it costs the same as my old gym.

    I am going to the 6:30p yoga class tonight. I hope I like this instructor. I hope she knows what she is doing.

    I haven't studied at all today. I had a mini-breakdown this morning. I started on the material and nothing made sense. I gave myself the day off. I have to allow breath room. The kiddo is at her daddy's tonight so I may be able to study for at least an hour this evening. Or I may grocery shop tonight. Or I may do nothing. We shall see.

    I also called about 3 counseling sessions covered by my previous employer. It's all in the works now. A therapist should be calling me back soon. Losing my job has caused me the biggest difficulty. I need to know how to cope. I am fighting off the urge to gorge myself with food, smoke (been doing well there! one a day or less!!), or drink (oh how I'd become an alcoholic right now). I need coping mechanisms.

    So, the first couple of weeks went really well - I was right on point and even decided to do a check-in to make sure I was right in feeling I was on the right path. I'd lost about 3lbs, which is great. Goes to show I was able to do it on my own. And for whatever FLIPPIN' reason, the last week or so has been the biggest gong show EVER. Obviously *something* has been going on with me because I didn't run for 5 days either. I did need the rest (too many days of running with downhill and my knees were feeling it big time) but taking the rest should have come with smart sleep and sound recovery nutrition. Not stuffing as much crap into my mouth as I could find. Not just over-eating. Like, garbage I would normally never go near. So I ran again today which felt amazing and though I had a hideous nutritional day again today I am not putting up with this and am ready to hit the ground running. Actually, as I post this I just had an epiphany about what could have caused this kind of depressive binge. My 1-year MFP anniversary is coming up on Monday. I joined MFP the same day I decided to turn my life around. At the most I had lost 53lbs and not only had I hoped to keep losing in 2009 (I haven't lost yet this year, only GAINED) but in recent weeks I had REALLY hoped I would at least be back to 50lbs lost by my 1 year date. Last week I realized it wasn't going to happen and I feel like such a failure. Literally all of my success on the scale was achieved in the first 5 months I was on here. After that it has been a battle of maintaining, losing some of what I gained back, gaining it again and losing it again and so on. I'm exhausted and sick of this cycle and I need to **** or get off the pot. Why am I bothering to plan out perfectly balanced nutritional days and schedule in my training if I'm just going to find some excuse to over-eat or have a pointless "treat"... That's not why I'm here. And it sucks that I'll hit my 1-year mark at LEAST 10lbs heavier than my lowest this past year but dwelling on it won't take the lbs off.
    I'm going to get my good pattern re-established and I'm going to avoid the scale again in a couple of weeks once I'm solidly back on track. :ohwell:

    Rhiannon, I cannot help but laugh since you and I are in almost identical situations.
    I joined June 28, 2008. I lost 49lbs at my highest, but I've gained 10lbs of that back. :laugh:
    Bumps in the road, sweetheart. Some of those bumps lead into potholes on the other side. But we will make it through and keep on to our goals. I think the most important thing... wait, I think everyone should hear this...

    I think the most important tool to losing weight is being connected to a small group, like the Sixers.
    If it weren't for this group (and a few other wonderful MFPers), I wouldn't be bothering with this site. But I come here to check in and check up on you guys, my dear internet friends. I love being here to support you all in life and weight loss, and I love the support I get from y'all. SO KEEP CHECKING IN!! No matter the loss, no matter the gain, check in. We are all here! (Awww, did anyone else get the warm fuzzies from that? :laugh: )

    Rhiannon, I am glad you had fun camping. I want to go camping so badly, I have for weeks! But I'm not the outdoorsy type so I need someone with a CLUE to go with me, and I'm lacking in that department. But mark my words- the first person around me who says they'd like to go camping - I'm latching on to them!

    Amy, you poor thing. I think your body will require extra time to heal due to all this trauma. I know it's been almost a year and a half since my last surgery and I still wonder if my body is back to "normal", whatever that is.

    Cathy, I hope you are having a great time unpacking! I LOVE unpacking and moving into a new place.

    Robin, 3lbs is great progress! Slow and steady wins the race!

    AmyLou, I love the new cut. Looks like what I asked for. (We won't talk about what I got :grumble: ). Oh wait - you see my facebook, you've probably read about the Horrible Hair. :laugh:

    Good Morning Ladies,

    Well last night we had the biggest lighting storm here. My poor dog was just nuts. We lost power for about 4 hours. Any way its dark and gloomy today and the weather reports says were in for another night like last night. :noway: Today is my little brothers birthday and so I will make his dinner tonight. :drinker: :drinker: I am going to make chicken alfredo. I think.... I don't know for sure because he loves several things I make. He really likes it when I make something my mom used to make. :flowerforyou: So I am trying to make up my mind. I guess I'll know when I get to the store later. All I know everything is going to be way up there in calories. :grumble: :grumble: And of course if I am going to make it, I am going to eat it too. I just can't imagine eatting salad when everyone else it munching on the yummy stuff. :drinker: :drinker: I will try to keep the portions down. The only other draw back is COCKTAILS!!!!! So looking forward to doing shots tonight and playing Wii. :drinker: I know Iknow I shouldn't, but it's a bithday party....     Hey Lauryn,

    Look at your picture... You are so adorable!!!!!! You even look a lot like my daughter. Any time you want to move in a be my kid, I welcome you with open arms. LOL Thanks for the advice but all in all its going to be more work than fun for me. But like you said Birthdays only come around once a year.
    And my brother deserves to have a good one. Out of four brothers he's the only one left. So we take care of one another since were the only ones besides my daughter. Family is more important as we get older. Any way girl I'll let you know how it goes in the morning. I need to get busy now.

    Well ladies.... I went back to my personal training sessions this week. It was a little hard but I made it though. I didn't weigh this week but the last time I looked I was up 3 lbs. CRAZY. I'm looking way better in my clothes so I'm not going to let the numbers make me sad. :flowerforyou:

    So I weighed in this morning to just check and I was down to 148.6, 2.4 lbs. since Tuesday!! WHOA! don't know how it happened either except I've been super busy at work running here and there and have been relatively good with my calories. I resisted updating my ticker and instead will see if it sticks for Tuesday. I have a bachelorette party this weekend, fortunately since I haven't gotten paid for work yet I will not be able to afford to drink a lot off excess calories! :drinker:

    To those who are stressed, or hurting, or just struggling right now, there is a saying that has always helped to get me through difficult times. "The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you." So have faith in that and have faith in your friends and family and you will make it through! And as always, the Sixers are always here for you!!! :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart:

    Morning everyone.

    Imma go weigh in. See what kinda damage has occurred lately.
    165.5lbs which puts me down 1lbs BUT it's a morning weigh in and I usually weigh in the afternoons.
    We'll see. It DOES mean I haven't gained. Small victories.

    Signing off here to get ready. I have a 10am appointment for a "gym orientation". I'm gonna take advantage of the personal trainer and get her to show me the best weight lifting routine for me. :smile:

    I got the guts to step on the scale myself this morning AND I was elated. I AM FINALLY OUT OF THE 200'S. I WAS 197.0 OMG!!! I was pleasantly surprised. YAYYYYYYYAYYYY:laugh: I was worried that this day wouldn't come for a while but it is here. :happy: I'm loving it today. I'm headed to the gym in a few.

    Hey ladies! Good news on my end. I went to the doc on Tuesday of this week. Discussed with her that I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. She took a bunch of tests and turns out I am B12 deficient and that is causing my anemia! A bright, bright light is at the end of my tunnel! Yahoo! :drinker: :drinker:

    I went for my first injection yesterday and I already feel it working . It is great! I may have to do this on a regular basis but that is A-OK with me!

    Today I go back to my GYN to discuss my ultrasound results.

    Just thought I would share. Its not a victory on the scale but it means there might be some of those in the near future! :flowerforyou:
