One last thing, maybe look into Chalean Extreme to be your next in home workout program. I had the deluxe version which comes with resistances bands and loved it. And this is coming from a guy.
actually i have thought of getting that to be my next at home dvd program... it's a bit pricey for me right now but i am going to start saving for it.. i just like the 30 min dvd's as i know i can get them in daily with NO excuses...
CLX is 35-45 minutes. One thing I loved compared to P90X(2) which are an hour+
Don't buy it brand new from Beach Body. Look around on eBay and Craigslist. I got my CLX used for $50 and I'm starting next week. I've been doing Ripped in 30 with anywhere from 5-15 lb weights. If you want to keep seeing results from the weights OP you've got to upgrade past the 5 lbs, some exercises you should be able to go higher easily. You could even keep doing RI30 while you try to find an affordable CLX set, but get some bigger weights. Also I like to do 2 different RI30 levels back to back when I have an hour to workout. Going to purchase a couple larger sets for CLX so I can be sure to have heavy enough options for failure in the correct number of reps.0 -
that is what i did when i was doing 30ds the last time... i did 2 levels back to back. I just upgraded to 5 lbs weight, i still can't do side lunges proper with them bu can with 3 lbs. so i switch back to them for that exercise... I am going to get my next set up very soon as yes some of the exercises i could go up a notch in some of the exercises.0

Unfortunately, 5 lbs really wont provide much resistance and definitely won't help increase lean muscle mass. I like CLX better as it's not focused on cardio but rather heavy lifting. it's still fun. 3 days of pure weight training, one yoga and one HIIT and two days off. Although, I took the one day off and did a full lower body workout (extra DVD with the deluxe package).0 -
I can tell you one thing, CARDIO IS NOT the answer. If you want to cut FAT, then you need resistances/strength training. And not that 5 lb 30 rep crap. You need to lift heavy enough so you fail at 8-12 reps. Cutting fat will help you get you that body that you want.
Now I know all the cardio heads are going to come back at me and fight, but I am merely talking from a scientific perspective (as noted below in the link) that RT will provide greater fat loss (with a good nutrition plan, aka eating enough to fuel the fire).

To further express my reasoning, below is a response from another MFP member that I have been working with. She is 36 years old and for 2 months only did ST/RT.. aka zero cardio. I had her eating 2100 calories on lifting days and 1800 calories on non lifting days. She lifted 4 times a week. And here is what she got.
"I just wanted to thank you for your help. You helped me a few months back and I just wanted to give you an update on my progress. 12 weeks ago I started at 154 and 28% bf. I got my bf remeasured last Friday and it was 24%. But I only lost 1 pound. It is crazy to me but I have learned to ignore the scale. You were right that keeping consistent and not giving up my body would finally adjust.
Thanks again for your help!
Stephanie"
For those that didn't do the math, she gained 3 lbs of lean muscle mass. And as we all know, muscle is more dense that fat which makes you have a tighter body. Cardio is heart health and helps circulation. ST/RT/WT cut fat and make muscle. More muscle = faster metabolism.
What is st/rt/wt0 -

ya i hear ya on that, i guess at this point i am not ready to go up and do heavier lifting...I think what i am is doing is better then nothing for sure, and it has made a improvement.... I will stick to what i am doing and increase to 8 lbs for the exercises i can do and then take it from there...0 -

Unless you've got some injuries, you can do it. Heavy doesn't mean you need to be throwing on a bunch of 45's on a bar right off the bat. Heavy just means your muscle fatigues with less reps which allows you to get stronger; you'll also gain some muscle in the short-term, and maintain your muscle mass over the long term as you lose bodyfat. It can be a bit intimidating, but it's pretty rewarding.0 -
so what should i bump up to while doing Rin30? the only exercise i can't do with 5lbs weight right now is the side leg raises... i can't get proper form with heavier weights and then i am all awkward...0
