I have been getting really discouraged. Not with my weight loss, but the past few weeks, I have slacked on working out and on eating as healthy. Hoping this week will change things around. As far as NSV's go, during this challenge, I completed the C25K and left the Obese category behind!

I am yellow in the chart! WOOO! For some reason I had decided that would never be a possibility for me.
My NSVs have been things like: biking up the big hill our house is on, wearing jeans from four years ago, actually wanting to order things from menus that are healthy, and the silliest is a story...
I ride in a vanpool to work daily and sit in the seat behind the driver. I can see myself (my face) in the rearview mirror and when I started riding in the van, last January, all I could see of myself in that mirror was my huge double chin. It made me sad. I knew I had 40+ pounds to lose, but that mirror angle made me feel like all 40 were right there in my chins. Slowly but surely over the course of the last four months, the 40 pound chin has greatly diminished. This morning's ride to work I even thought, "Hey, I look like ME again!"
Thanks for the challenge, and I can't WAIT to do the next one in July. Count me in!

Oooo NSV's what a great challenge!
    I think mine would be
    1) my friend commenting to my other friend in the gym 'who's that fit girl over there' then realising it was me!!!! He actually didn't recognise me so that felt pretty dam good!
2)I wore a bikini the other day and even though it didn't look great it looked way better than when I last wore one
    3) A doctor congratulated me on losing 42 lbs so far which felt awesome!

Two more weeks and 6.0 pounds to go to get to my challenge weight. I don't think I'll make that, but any loss is a good loss!

My NSV would be wearing clothes I haven't been able to wear in years, plus looking better in them now that I did then!

And YES, I want to be in the next challenge, even though I didn't do great in this one. I am always hopeful.

ah, feels good to be back in my green square...

im in for the next challenge as well

hmmmm...NSV would have to be that some of my work shirts used to be snug around the belly area, now I kinda feel like they're getting too big, also, I'm starting to fit back into some clothes I haven't been able to in a while.

Good luck to everyone in these final two weeks, push hard!!

hah, just thought of a funny NSV from the other day, i went for a run on Sunday (sadly, i hadnt been since i started Insanity), and the shorts i've always worn were dam near falling off of me the entire time, it was annoying while i was running, but i had a great laugh about it when i was done.

Thanks Kristen for all of your hard work on these challenges! I'm definitely in. I may be up in weight by the 9th as the week before that I will be on vacation in California visiting my daughter and the Chef (her husband). He does not cook low calorie. We will be going to Yosemite, so I hope to hike some calories off...lol

My NSV's.....my daughter's comment the other night about how great my arms were looking, plus my trainers comment that when she was looking at me working on the elliptical from behind, my arms looked skinny...

Also there are two women at the gym who are constantly telling me that i have inspired them to work out more (one has lost over 20 pounds) and that they are amazed at how much I can do and how strong I have gotten.

Congratulations to everyone doing this challenge, weather the scale has been kind or not, you are working towards a goal. I lose weight very slowly, but I know I am so much healthier and stronger. Exercise and making more good food choices than bad has become a part of my life!! Have a great week y'all!!

Roni - I love this challenge!! NSVs are positive thinking tools!! I love hearing & connecting with all the success stories we have. It is a great story to hear/read repeatedly!!!

Here are a couple of recent NSVs I have had:

    - The other day I was shopping off the clearance rack & came across a dress I thought might work, but it was a size 10. Oh, well, I thought, I'll try it anyway. The results were that the dress was not for me, BUT not because it didn't fit or zip up. I can take a size 10 to the dressing room, and no one stops me to tell me that I have the wrong size & I don't have to look for the biggest size offered hoping that it will fit.

    - My other NSV is that this summer I have actually made it to the neighborhood pool 2 times which is 2 times more than last year. Last year I was too self-conscious to chance seeing someone I know at the pool. This year I am okay with taking that chance. I am not making excuses as to why I don't want to go to the pool this year. And I have had to pass on a couple of last year's bathing suits to a friend since they are too big this year.

    - There are NSVs that come up all the time & brighten my day - And I love that I can share here without feeliing like I am on a brag fest.

Reading all the NSV's has been so much fun tonight! Mine would be:

    1. Buying (and coming really close to wearing comfortably) a size 14 pair of pants!
    2. Having my picture taken at Costco to become a member and having to do a double take at the picture. Didn't recognize myself!
    3. Going up and down a flight of stairs without being winded.
    4. And the biggest change of all since this challenge has been my ability to get back on track after having a bad week. That is HUGE for me!! So happy there will be another challenge. They are helping me change my life. Thank you, Kristen!

i'm excited that you'll do another challenge, and hopeto be included. Even though I've not been active posting comments, I treat this like my official weigh in, so it's nice to be accountable somewhere and it helps to keep me on track! Thank you for your efforts Kristen. The charts are awesome!

The new chart looks awesome Kirsten! I really appreciate all the time and effort you spend with the challenges to give us all something to work towards and be accountable too. :flowerforyou: Please include me in the new challenge.

    NSV's

I just came back from a shopping trip in the States...I bought two pair of capri's, one is a cargo pant and the other is a jean capri...both of them were a size 14 which I haven't been able to wear in years! A far cry from the tight size 20's from last summer.

On a totally different note...but a victory just the same...we stayed at Tulalip Hotel and Casino, I took down $550 American and brought home $1200 American. So, a great hotel room, fabulous buffets, (dreading next week's weigh in) great shopping, and made money to boot! You can't beat that! :drinker: :drinker:

ETA because it appears I can't spell today!

::Smh:: I'm not going to really tell you all what I think....because it is negative and I'm pissed. Maybe I should just forget losing weight and just give in to the fact that I will always be obese. Nothing like exercising, watching what you are eating to have the opposite effect. I actually threw my scale today. Scared my little boy....which I apologized for over and over. This is just ridiculous, and not really sure why losing weight has to be so damn hard. I'm giving it one more week, and then I'm finished and I will delete this site if I lose nothing and gain again. What is the sense of keeping up on something with no results? A 5 lb gain in a week? Makes no damn sense...especially with the way I have been moving and eating....I have stayed under 1400 calories a day, and I have been moving. In fact I have been working non stop around the clock cleaning houses to try to make some extra money. Some things...are just better left unsaid.

That's very frustrating! Perhaps there is something going on with your thyroid? That can make losing very tough. Perhaps a visit to the doctor is needed to make sure that those numbers are where they are suppose to be. Some people also seem to find low carb works better for them. There is something that will work for you, we just got to figure out what it is.

Our bodies respond differently to the stresses we put them under (yes it considers exercise stress! LOL). Maybe you need to set your weekly loss to a bit less to increase your calories and make things a bit easier on yourself. You are improving your health with all the extra activity but that can make you retain water too. It's tough when the scale doesn't co-operate. Have you taken measurements? The tape measure is much nicer when your activity is high. It has kept me going through some tough "stalls". Don't give up, just try something different (shorter workout, longer workout, rest days, cheat day, zig zagging, etc., etc.). You can do this, take a deep breath, look back on what was working for you before, has anything changed? Don't be so hard on yourself and look at the positives you have acheived. You are probably in much better shape than when you started, your clothes probably fit better, you probably have more energy. Throw the scale (make sure your little guy isn't there), call it nasty names (yes I do this on occasion), and get a tape measure.

Thank you Roni, you are right...something isn't right, but I weighed myself earlier this morning and I was back down those 5 lbs. What I decided to do was get rid of that scale for a month. I'm finished weighing myself starting next week. I will weigh myself ONE more time for this challenge then I am done with that scale. I need a break from it and I think I put too much stress on myself when I weigh myself and then find I have gained when I felt I should have lost.

I am not only doing that, but with the help of bluiz13 I am increasing my food intake. I've been skipping meals and not getting enough to eat in a day. ((just too busy sometimes)) so I'm working on that also. I'm not giving up yet....I'm going to try this detox from the scale thing and weigh myself again August 1st. I did take measurements and I will be doing that once a week instead of the scale...maybe that will show more anyhow.

Thank you so much for your feedback...I so very much appreciate it. Best of luck to you for the rest of this challenge. :flowerforyou:

...we stayed at Tulalip Hotel and Casino

I can't wait to head up that way. My parents are south of Seattle and I am taking my daughter for a visit just before her first birthday. It is going to be a wonderful break from the 110 degrees we are having in Phoenix.

I really wanted to do another challenge....but I'm putting the scale away for the month of July. I will continue back with the scale once a week in August. (unless I really had awesome results and it made a huge difference!) I just need a break from that scale and maybe my frustration will decrease a little.

Kristen I thank you so much for everything you have done with this challenge...the chart, EVERYTHING. I love your challenges....so hoping the next one you do I can sit in on. How long will this challenge you are starting go til?

I think I may have it figured out to why I am not losing much. I will be monitoring that and working on it and hopefully with great results. I will be weighing in for the last time Friday. I know I didn't meet my goal weight...but I stuck through this challenge which I can say was hard, but at least I stuck it through. Best of luck to you all....and hope to see you in the next challenge after August 1st.
