Hey everyone. There's some great stories on here. My highest weight was 289 lbs., in 2011, and I have now lost 60 pounds. I still have a ways to go, but I wanted to say that what has helped me the best is eating healthy (all day long with snacked size meals)walking, dancing, and adding a 5 lb. medicine ball to my workouts. There's some great core workouts that can help with the stomach area, and possibly tightening up excessive skin. The medicine balls are only $10-$15, so it's worth a shot instead of buying a lot of other DVDs, or exercise equipment. The great thing is that everybody puts everything on YouTube, so you can look up "Medicine Ball and Core Workouts" and find a ton of stuff. I remember last year, when I had only lost 8 pounds, I felt a little disappointed, and overwhelmed. But then, here I am 60 pounds lighter, and starting to jog...for fun, and I feel great. I still have 84 pounds to lose, but I'm like, "Bring it on!". Well, I wish everyone the best! Oh, and with the medicine ball, there's workouts for friends, or couples, so make it fun!0

I've lost a lot, but still have quite a ways to go. I'm having trouble with some loose skin, but not so much that I can't help myself to some extent. I'm hoping to start lifting weights in a few months and go through a bulking phase when I get closer to my goal weight. My stomach is my biggest problem area and I am looking forward to shrinking it more.
I can honestly say that consistently logging on MFP and staying focused on changing my lifestyle has helped me more than anything. I have been a yo-yo dieter for years and am thrilled to have finally attained success and the positive attitude to keep being successful.0 -

hi everyone. i have 50-60 more to lose.
it's great reading all the stories here of people who have lost so much already
it's been going well so far, but kind of slower than i expected. in my weight loss fantasies when i first started, i saw myself being 40 pounds down by now. but it's all good, i'm losing in a way that i know i'll be able to maintain once i reach goal.

I've been going at this for about a week or so. I changed my diet drastically (hitting the gym and eating under 1000 calories a day). So far so good. I lost 13 pounds in three days! =o I need to lose about 100 more. We got this, though! =D0

I have 80 lbs to lose and, like you, I'm worried about how my skin will adjust as I lose the weight. But, my BMI right now is just not healthy, so the weight has to go. I've been using MFP for just about a week now and it's been fantastic. I find it very motivating just to check in everyday, so making some friends here would be great! I love to cook, so I've been keeping an eye on how to make my favorite meals without unnecessary calories. It's actually been fun because eating better means, for me, eating at home So, I've MADE the time to cook whereas I've felt for years that I only occasionally had time. Now I realize that it HAS to happen and it's just not an option for me anymore to keep eating "whatever is available" for the convenience. It turns out that there are many ways to make eating healthy convenient, too. So, I'm excited to lose the weight. I hope I keep feeling that way!0

I started my journey about a year ago at 230.4lbs. my ideal weight was said to be at about 148.8lbs. I obviously felt very disgusted, and started to eat healthier, I made it down to 189lbs, and then something went wrong, I was like "Yeah, I lost 41.4lbs, I can slack a bit, and it wont hurt, I'm already down a few pant sizes, what would one cookie hurt." Major fail on my part, I'm back to 214lbs at recent, and really wanting to kick it in gear. I literally joined MFP less than an hour ago, and hoping to find others in the same boat as I am to help with keeping on track It looks like I have at least 60lbs to lose.0

Hi,
I am 46 yr old female and weigh 267 lbs and need to lose about a 100 lbs and would also need a long term buddy to keep me motivated. Was born with knee problems and have a hard time exercising because of all the pain in my knees. Also have arthritis in my knees and need knee replacement but the specialist wants to wait as long as possible because of my age. Also dealing with thyroid disease and I am very frustrated. Losing 100 lbs seems so overwhelming. Help....0 -

Hello to all those who have replied since I last posted. Glad to see so many people here that are either starting or are well on their way back. Seems like a lot of us have a few things in common. I'm looking forward to overcoming this weight loss with you guys. Again, if I haven't added you and you'd like to be a friend, feel free to send me a request. I think being supportive of others and having their support as well has been a great motivation for me so far.0

I have a 100+ to loose and this time I am not giving up.0

I'd love to lose 50 - 60 lbs, but right now my goal is 30 by September 1st. I'm watching what I'm eating, going to the gym 4-5 days a week mixing in cardio and weight training. I did get a bit frustrated because my scale at home says I'm only down 1 lb since April 1st yet the scale at the gym says 5 lbs. I have to learn that the scale IS NOT my friend and it's just a number, it's about how you feel and how my clothes fit. I think I have lost a few inches but I'm only taking my measurements once a month so I don't know for sure.
Everyone's stories are very encouraging to read so thank you! Here's to success for each of us!0 -
My goal is to lose 65lbs. Currently I'm at about 240. I started running about 3 weeks ago. I haven't lost from running alone but I am able to run longer now. I started the 30day shred 2 days ago. I'm going to alternate between running and doing the dvd.
Good luck!!0 -
