    I gave up:
    Some time on Facebook
Some time on the TV (I exercise watching internet TV via my laptop on the exercise bike now)
My fat habits (sitting on my big backside being one of them)
Some time with my Friends and Family but they would rather I was healthy than not so they are happy and understand it has to be done.
My massive portions of midday food ('I can't exercise I am too full' was my go-to excuse for not working out at lunchtime
Some money - I bought some 2.5 and 5 kg weights

I've lost 12lbs in the last 6 weeks, got fitter, got stronger, have more energy and learned enough to be smart about the foods and portions that work for me, so it's a fair trade as far as I am concerned.

Tv, sleep, and a few big nights! Hard to have a few drinks when you know you've got to get up and run 15kms the next day for your half marathon training!!!

And how hard was it to give up, or stay away from that other activity to keep to your workouts?

Sleep. How hard? It is SLEEP!

My hour of winding down in the afternoon. But that's okay, I feel much better after working out, so it works out. (I dont have kids, so I have the rest of the evening to relax if I realllly want to)

Just an hour of sitting around and playing games I guess. Though If I want to keep my current one up I'll also have to sacrifice about half an hour of sleep in the mornings to fit it into my day every day.

I'm a regular film geek, but I (unconsciously) gave up my 2 - 3 weekly cinema habit as I exercise six nights a week. I'm lucky in that I have a healthy social circle within my zumba class so it doesn't feel like too much of a compromise (we socialise after class, go for a cheeky drink in the pub across the road from the gym, even go on holiday together).

Besides, there's always DVDs. And cinema, to me = OMGPOPCORNNACHOSBENANDJERRYSNOMNOMNOMWTFBBQ.

I gave up my morning coffee/gossip time with my friends. As much as I do miss them, the reward of feeling healthier and more active is way more!!! I do get a rough time from some of my friends that are not supportive of my gym time....I even have to lie sometimes and NOT tell them I am going to the gym! So that makes me feel a little guilty....BUT nothing will get in my way of a workout! I love it!

I gave up Facebook. It wasn't that hard since I deleted my account. I can never get it back. I don't regret my decision. =)

how do you permanently delete? I didn't thank that was possible. I deactivated mine but couldn't find a permanent delete option.

I gave up being lazy, excuses and being weak. I gave up an hour of my day. My son will tell you he has given up Dora and Deigo so mommy can watch a show that she doesn't seem to like. He is such a good boy making sacrifices so he can have a the neighborhood hot mom :)

Exactly, instead of sitting and watching TV, I'm in the basement for 1:15 or so doing P90X.

An hour a night of sitting on my bum, staring at Facebook and comparing myself unfavourably with other people at home doing the exact same thing. Life is much better since I have that up.

family time. but that has changed that my wife now does insanity with me. She makes me work harder, i know she is doing it just for me. so after this we are going to do something she wants. It is awesome.

    Sweet, sweet, precious sleep :noway:

I still lose and miss my alarm at least once a fortnight though. Can only ignore natural needs for so long.

I don't remember what I gave up. Must have been really important stuff.
For reason it isn't hard to keep from doing it again, see above.

I have less time to focus on my photography hobby, and retired as moderator of 3 photography forums :-( .....
I do miss the creative side of it - but love my newfound health and fitness - so will never want to go back there again....
