Is one cheat meal going to mess up your diet?

Hi have a cheat meal every week on a saturday for dinner. One meal is fine, but I have read to try and not make it the whole day. Enjoy!0

It will ruin your week if you don't account for it. I eat 1800 calories every day. To maintain my weight I need to eat about 2500. That is a deficit of 700 calories a day, or 4900 a week (roughly a pound and a half. But on my cheat day I usually eat about 4000-5000 calories. (I really pig out, lol). taking that in to account, that now equals less than half a pound. Quite a difference, and almost not worth it. Is that 4 pieces of pizza, 2 pieces of cheesecake, big bowl of icecream, and 3 brownies worth and entire week of suffering at a calorie deficit. You really have to calculate everything.0

Why are you resurrecting a year old thread? OP clearly fell off the wagon too, as she still shows 15 lbs lost 1.5 year later...0 -

I find that when I have an off day with a somewhat fat ridden meal, I actually still seem to lose my normal amount of weight that week. I think it resets my metabo or something.0

Tomorrow is my husband's birthday and we are taking him to Melting Pot which is a fondue restaurant. It is a 4 course meal that includes a cheese fondue, a chocolate fondue, a salad, and chicken, shrimp, and sirloin. We haven't been there in a long time so we are surprising him. The thing is, the place prices by couples so for my husband and I it is $100. Therefore, I feel like it would be a waste of money if I just had a salad. If I have a little bit of everything, will it completely ruin my diet? I mean, it is only one day. Not sure what to do....
Do as you wish but if it were me, I'd eat a little of everything and allow myself to go over my normal calorie allowance within reason. What I never do is use a special occasion as an excuse to binge. Going on a single food binge won't make you fat either but one leads to another. Have fun!0
