Real Genius
Popcorn anyone? Who wants a sweater? I loved the moment when Val Kilmer's character tells Gabe that they're smart, but they're nothing to the student who graduated several years before who's living in the steam tunnels of the university.0 -

Wow I haven't even heard of a lot of these. I was born in 80 though, so I guess most of these would have been when I was too young to really watch them. Guess I am going to have to start renting some!0

OMG I love love love this movie! I have loved red headed men since I first saw it!0 -
I LOVE 80s movies, John Hughes, the whole Brat Pack, etc. I think Say Anything might be my favorite, but there isn't a one that I won't stop and watch if I'm flicking through the channels and one comes on. Even the more obscure ones, like Youngblood or American Anthem. And of course, the ensemble casts like The Outsiders!
I am with you on the John Hughes thing! Brilliant man - brilliant movies. When they are on TV I watch them, even when I own them on dvd and could watch them ad free0 -
GHOSTBUSTERS!.......mmmm, also WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT is epic......and DIE HARD and THE TERMINATOR0

I have to go with Breakfast club, but there are so, so many. Thoughts?

There are only a few movies that I watch whenever I come across it while channel surfing. From the 80s that would be...
The Princess Bride0 -
Definitely The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles. I also liked the Gremlins!0
-
If it is movie about the 80's, then its Fast times at Ridgemont High....classic. Of course that when I was in high school, so it resinates.
Oh and Back to the future...Awesome as well.0 -
Anybody remember BREAKIN' or how about BREAKIN' 2 ELECTRIC BOOGALOO?? Ya, they were pretty bad. But Im going with TOP GUN for best 80's movie. It would be a good movie to see, even today. It would not look "cheesy" compared to some other 80's movies. I watched the original FOOTLOOSE last week - ya it was kinda "cheesy". There was scence where John Lithgow was using an actual typewriter - remember those??0

No way! We loved it! And my boyfriend told me recently that it was one of his favorites when he was a kid too. Me and my sisters could probably still sing the songs from the movie.0 -
