    I'd like to join the July Challenge!
    Started Jan. 9th at 190
    today weigh 183
    Goal by July 1st. 160

    What I really want is to have a steady 2 lb per week weight loss between now and July 1st, and be at my goal weight of 145, but I know that I can't maintain that level of loss consistently with out a few bad weeks here and there.
    So- I figure 23 pounds in 19 weeks is actually something I can do if I work hard.

    Do you guys have a set weigh in day? Do you check in daily?

    I would love to be a part of this group. I am currently at 202 and need to be down to 166 to max out my body comp score on my PT test. I am currently active duty AF. I have to take my PT test in May, so ideally I would like to hit goal by then, but I think that might be a little ambitious. So I will shoot for July and be very thankful if I hit it early! I am working out M-F 30 minute run plus 2-5 minute cool down and 45-60 full body weights MWF, on T/Thur I am doing Abs/back.

    Here is the minimum I need to pass the test in May
    1.5 mile run 15:30 (would like 15) :noway:
    Waist 34" (would like 32)(or get max points if I am under 166)
    Situps 42 (would like 47 MAX points)
    Pushups 32 (shocked I could do this many last time so as long as I still can I am happy!!!)

    We're happy to have you! So, I started this challenge so I start a new post every Monday. But, I check it daily and try to really respond to everyone and help motivate! I think that is the key to weightloss...motivation, support, and self-confidence! So...feel free to post whenever you'd like. My weight tends to fluctuate so I do weigh in on Mondays but post when I see a change that's sticking throughout the week. This week I'm stuck at 165 (2 pounds up from where I was last week at 163--my 20 pounds lost mark). This is very frustrating but I'm sure that I'm gaining some muscle and maybe it's just time to switch up my exercise a bit and maybe change what I'm eating a little. I find that this tends to help. Anyways...now I'm rambling! So...yes...we are happy to have you join our challenge! And yes...you can post whenever your little heart desires! Oh! And happy valentines day!!!!

    Ok, finally took off the 2nd pound I had put on this weekend. I hate putting it on and taking it off. I should be jumping for joy having lost 2lbs since Monday, but since they are two pounds that I put on from the weekend it's actually more depressing.

    Darn 2lbs! I lost you last week! :grumble:

    Oh well, I'm going to try and use this as a motivator to really stick to my healthy eating on the weekend, even when I have nights out planned, Moderation is my new Mantra!

    So, I'm back to 214. Goal was to be 212 by Saturday. I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen.:laugh:

    But maybe It'll average out and I'll be caught up by next weekend. One can only hope.

    rookieswife told me about this challenge group (I really think I need to be in one.) So, do I have to post my weight(eek) if I join this group or just progress?
  • i definetly did not do as well as i planned, probably due to various parties, that time of the mount, and bad weather that cancelled all of my exercise activities...

    but im back on track for this week, so its all good. good luck guys!

    If you don't want to post your weight, then don't. You can just post progresss i.e. 2 pounds lost...whatever. That's fine! And we're happy to have you!

    F.Y.I. I start a new post on Mondays so PLEASE look for the current post each week. That way it's easy for others to check and respond to each other! This is a motivational group and I really do think it's important for each of us to be here for one another! I try and respond to things as much as I can.

    well when i started dieting before i joined htis site i was 183.5 now i am 177.5 so i have lost a total of 6 lbs in 3 weeks but i would like ot loose more because i only lost .5 of a pound in the last week!
  • I have been sick with the cold/flu for 8 days now, so I have been unable to diet or exercise.
    But even so my weight is...
    Last week- 166
    This week- 164

    My goal goal for July is 150. I don't know if this is unreasonable or not, but it is worth a shot.

    That's great progress! Don't worry about the .5 this week. Some weeks your up some weeks your down. As long as you make progress over the long run.

    Well, I lost the 2lbs I gained over last weekend. I even managed not to eat any of the fabulous hand made chocolates my boyfriend bought me... but I was hoping for 212 by today... oh well, maybe 211 by next Friday...

    I'm really going to try and stick to my healthy eating this weekend, particularly since it's a long one. I am going to high tea with my friend for her birthday and I know I wont' be able to resist the fresh baked scones, cream and jam! :frown:

    It just seems like there is something every weekend... next weekend we're hosting a couples trip to see our local hockey team and we're all going out for Italian beforehand.

    The weekend after that it's Bruce Springsteen and I'm sure we'll go to dinner before

    The weekend after that is my friends 40th Birthday and her band is playing at a local bar

    I know, life will continue to happen and I just need to manage my weight loss while it does... but it'd sure be easier if I had no social life! :smile:
  • I would like to join the Challenge. I started 1-18-08 at 195 pounds. As of today I am 189 and have 30 more pounds to go. I would love to be swim suit ready by July. This group seems like just the thing to get me there. I can always use the support..... Thanks:smile:
