Good evening and welcome to a new month and a new challenge! :flowerforyou:

Grammymax, fitgal411, and CarmenSantiago were the winners for June with 30 consecutive days of no late night snacking!!! Congratulations!!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

For the July challenge, please choose a cut-off time and then do not snack or consume anything caloric after that time. Keep track of each consecutive night that you stick to the challenge. The person with the longest stretch of consecutive nights of no late night snacking through July 31st wins the month of July.

My cut-off time is 9:30 p.m. because I don't usually go to bed before 11:30 or midnight. I do allow myself a later cut-off time of 11:30 p.m. for special occasions/week-end nights if I'm out.
Choose a time that works best for you.

Since some of us fall off the proverbial wagon by snacking past our cut-off time and have to start all over at Day 1, this challenge lends itself to newcomers at any time. So, everyone is welcome even if you start the challenge after July 1.

Good luck everyone!!! The July challenge has now officially begun.

Zaza

P.S. And I already blew it. :grumble: I was on the phone and accidentally snacked. So, tomorrow will be my Day 1. As you can see, it’s never too late to start this challenge.:ohwell:

My cut-off time is right after dinner - same as last month.

    I'm so excited . . . a new month, a new challenge!

Can I keep adding on from last month, or do I have to start over?

I think dewdrop had suggested once keeping parallel charts. Count the days for this month so we're all on the same page, but also track the total combined with last month. That should be an impressive and motivating number!

That's a great idea Zaza and you're right it will be motivating! I am up for the July challenge. I'm going to set the same times of 10:00 for weekdays and 11:30 for weekends, or special outings. I'm really proud of myself because I don't think at any time in June did I even get to those times. I don't want to press it though as like tonight I haven't eaten dinner yet and it's almost 9:30. So, I better get off the computer, go grab some dinner before I mess up the 1st day in the July challenge and the 31st day of my challenge.

Good to see you too Fitgal. Congrats!
  • ok this is just too hard of a challenge for me. I am queen of bed time snacking.

Hi ladies! I would like to jump in this month my cut off time is usually 8pm but just in case I go over I'm saying 8:30pm....I rarely snack pass then so I think it's a do-able goal.

I'm in for this month too. I will stick to 8pm, and 8:45 on the nights I have Zumba class. I'm excited about meeting my goals for this month! Just bought some new flavored tea for a late night snacking, calorie free substitute!

    Here's to a successful July!

Okay Pals I am in too! I will stick to no snacking/eating after 9pm.
  • Ok, I am in! I'm cutting myself off at 9:00 weeknights and 10:00 weekends. This is def. a weakness for me, so this a BIG challenge. I am going to need you all for support on this!

(So far, so good for tonight, so I am going to bed now!)

Ok I've dropped this group once and I really want to stick to it this month. I'm in college so I do have some late nights. I'm cutting off at 9:30 on most nights, but a couple nights a week it will be no eating after 9:30- but alcohol will be ok until 2. Lol doesn't sound like a huge challenge, but it will be!

    I'm excited

LOL I remember those college days, I was doing Weight Watchers... We would not eat all day, then we would drink our points all night! LOL those were the days!

    Total couter: 31
    Total consecutive counter: 31

Translation . . . I made it through day 1 (or day 31 - depends on how you look at it)!

Welcome to all the new people and the people coming back again. This is a great group of people and a great challenge! Good luck!

    Good morning-
As I mentioned last night, I slipped last night. But, no matter - tonight will be my Day 1! A great feature of this challenge is you can just reset the counter and still stay in the challenge.

Welcome to all the new people who have joined our monthly challenge! :flowerforyou: So great to have your enthusiasm. So glad also to see the familiar faces from last month and before.
    Good luck everyone!

I went past my calories yesterday, but I didn't put anything but water in my mouth past 8p.m. Isn't that just great? :drinker: Let's see if I can stick to 8. However, if I have dinner with other people, I'll try to adjust this to be reasonable.

I'm setting my end time at 9:30 now. The weather being nicer and staying light longer seems to be normal for our dinner to be later.
    Have a good evening.

I have really been struggling with keeping the pounds off until I started this group. Not snacking at night has made a HUGE difference! I asked my husband to support me in this because it's very hard when he eats around me. I have a hard time resisting and usually end up snacking with him!
So, for the past week, we have both been making a pot of tea and leaving the kitchen so we're not tempted. He says he feels better too, and I lost three more pounds! It's exciting to see results and I don't feel sluggish when I wake up anymore. My body isn't overworking to digest that food while I'm sleeping.

Good luck to everyone this month! This is a great way to really speed up that weight loss!
  • July count-- 2 days!
I am so grateful for this group! It saved me from chowing down multiple times last night. Thank you!!!

I fell off the wagon last month, but I'm back to try again. It doesn't seem to help me if I don't check in. Funny, how it helps to be accounted for my actions!
So, 9 pm it is, and two days down.
I'm really hoping I can get to my weight goal this month. Only 4 pounds to go.

The Rainman's gonna be a contender in July...

I did eat last night, but me and bunch of my cycling buddies did a late night 50 mile bike ride on off-road trails. I got back in at 11:30pm and ...well... was hungry. So, I ate some cottage cheese and watched the weather channel. Watch out everyone... I think I'll put an electric shocker on the fridge.

Great to see everyone coming back for more.... or less that is.

    Thanks for the encouragement Fitgal411.

Almost made it tonight but had to work late. Still, I watched my portions and ate lots of salad and stopped at 9pm instead of my normal 8pm. I'm proud of myself for not being perfectionist and giving up since I didn't make my time exactly. I still gave it my best shot and I know it will still make a difference. A month ago, I would still be searching through the refrigerator and pantry. Feels good to have some goals!
  • It is 3:30 am. I couldn't sleep. Not a wink. So I have just eaten 2 scrambled eggs with cheese and salsa and some beans. Nice.:grumble: Guess I start back at zero.

I usually sleep like a baby. What's up with this insomnia?

Well, I had a snack too late last night so I'm back to day one tonight :grumble: So...I'll have to work harder the rest of the month:wink: I didn't look at the clock until after I had indulged!

I have been ok with a 6 pm cutoff. I haven't had anything after 6 this month so far... I usualy start hitting the water by than just so I can avoid any hunger pangs. I'll join because my hubby likes to munch all evening, and its getting harder for me to say no. I need the challange!

Can I join in? This is great...I've been challenging myself to not eat too late and this will be great accountability....

I will not eat after 7pm. I think that should be manageable.

Hello! I'm (somewhat) new and would love to jump in. I would like to cut myself off at 8pm. I've always told myself in the past to 'not eat past so and so time' yada yada..but perhaps a challenge and support might help me along.

    mO_Om, welcome! (kewl nick)

I'm amazed that I did it last night. I was thinking to myself in the afternoon: "I'll think I'll abandon the challenge this month". Yet, here I am, trying again to hop back on  .
